10 Things I Want to Do in 2019

Hey, folks! I hope your new year is going good so far! This is a very random post that I decided to compose now. So here I present my personal wish list for the year 2019.

  1. Trim my hair: 4-5 inches maybe! They look wispy and fried to me because of not seeing scissors for years, so I’m getting rid of the ends. (I still want to retain the fairytale shape though. I somehow don’t prefer even, blunt ends on me!)
  2. Solo trips: This is unlikely because of my parents (I’ve to look after them + they don’t believe women can travel solo in our country – means, a lot of drama to handle!) but I still am not giving up. I wish to travel solo at least inside the country! I envy people who travel all over the world, alone. I wish I could do it.
  3. Go gluten-free: Now this is going to be hard but I just discovered that my body doesn’t respond well to gluten. I’ve reduced the gluten intake a LOT in the last few months but my midnight Maggi cravings pull me back to it sometimes. I aim to cut down on gluten totally and switch to easily digestible flour. (I made millet banana pancakes for breakfast yesterday.. Yumm)
  4. Buy a BBQ: I fancy outdoor cooing SO much. I believe I’ll never get bored of it if I start doing it. A coal BBQ oven is one of the main things in my wishlist! (I want to travel somewhere good – either the woods or somewhere rural and grill some nice chicken drumsticks and vegetables!)
  5. Gain weight: Okay, I’ve been saying this for like more than 3-4 years with hardly any luck. But hey, I gained 2 kilograms after I quit gluten so I’m positive about it this year. I’m going to cut down on problematic food items that don’t suit me and include more fresh/muscle gaining foods this year. Not to forget, I’ve to drink a lot of H20 too.
  6. Shift my house: I live in a super-polluted locality, close to the sea. Thiruvottiyur is a coastal area situated in Chennai; as much as I explored (and loved!) this place a lot in the last one year (earlier, I hated this place!) I want to move and live somewhere else. At least somewhere else inside the city – in the south. (Wouldn’t it be great if I get to just leave the city and live somewhere near the hills with less human around? Okay, forget it. Let me maintain a realistic wishlist!)
  7. Open an office space: This is much needed for me right now. Working from home, even if you have got a separate place isn’t a good idea, I’d say. (Experience!) I want to invest in a few types of equipment for my business (www.mabh.in) and organize a proper office for me. I hope it happens this year!
  8. Blog MORE!: Ever since people starting watching youtube videos, their habit of reading has gotten much compromised, which is sad. I see how people scroll through clickbait videos and gossips but not many are willing to read more (which will actually help them more!) But yes, there are people who love writing & reading (like me, and you!) so I want to blog for them. I’m going to get in touch with my old writers and start working with them again. If you’re passionate about writing, do send me an email at lancycv(at)gmail(com)
  9. Less cayenne & salt: Giving up on cayenne peppers will be heartbreaking for me if I had to give up on them altogether (as I did with white sugar last year) so I’m just going to reduce the intake of spices to half or quarter than how much I consume usually. (Got to know about Sattvik diet lately and I’m curious to try it out!) Did I tell you it has been more than 4 months since I quit consuming white sugar? (No. I don’t miss it. I don’t have a sweet tooth)
  10. Stop being a night owl: This is the hardest of all; I don’t even know if I’ll stick to this but it’s time to fix my circadian rhythm. I look forward to give up my nightlife altogether (improved a lot already!) to be more productive at work. (Strangely, it also helps my hair and weight!)

I have no idea how many of these will actually get materialized but I’m going to do my best and keep you updated whenever I tick something off the list! So what are you planning to do this year? If not 20, write one or two from your wishlist. I look forward to reading your comments below!
