The ordinary AHA BHA peeling solution review and overall verdict – herbeautyaffair

We are currently living in an era where skin care products are evolving more , skin positivity is rising and being encouraged which is amazing . Consumers are now more aware about the ingredients being use in a product.  Thanks to deciem, a brand which has introduced us to words like lactic acid , Glycolic acid hyaluronic acid etc. Little did we know these acids are beneficial for our skin. The brand doesn’t need any introduction, I have been obsessed with their azealic acid and have literally emptied two tubes of it as it provided me beneficial results. There is one stellar product of deciem which is always raved and that is their AHA BHA peel , a chemical exfoiliant  . Its even referred as an instant chemical peel. A truth bomb- Yes I was apprehensive before purchasing this and trying out on my acne prone but here I am now reviewing it. I have started using in April. My review will be based on my experience of using this product on my oily acne prone skin since 4 months. Read below to find out…

Packaging:-

The ordinary AHA BHA peel comes in a thick frosted glass with a dropper .  The quality is sturdy it doesn’t look or appear cheap. Most of their products are in similar packaging . It looks elegant and the best part is that the ingredients along with directions of usage are clearly mentioned. It’s travel friendly too.

Price :-

$ 6.30 approx  conversion 600 INR

Availability :-

Cultbeauty.uk [ I would recommend shopping from cult beauty whenever they have international free shipping ]. Otherwise this product is also available on many instagram authentic reseller pages ]

My take on the product:-

Ordinary AHA BHA peel is a chemical exfoiliant which claims to offer deep exfoliation thereby improving skin texture , lightening blemishes and in removal of dead skin cells which causes skin congestion . Let’s discuss why it’s so hyped and contents of the AHA BHA peel,  It has AHA [ alpha hydroxy acids]  which are glycolic acid, lactic acid, tartaric acid and citric acid and BHA [ beta hydroxy acid ] which is salicylic acid [ One of my favorite ingredient for acne] , The product contains a cocktail of these acids making to a colossal of 30 % acid content . Additionally it also contains Tasmanian pepperberry which helps to reduce inflammation and redness  , vitamin B5 which acts as antioxidant and hyarulonic acid which would help in minimizing probable irritation via high acid content. Moreover the base of the AHA BHA peel is water rather than silicon or oil which is amazing.   Mind you I did comprehensive research about this AHA BHA peel before trying it out my acne prone skin. Its directed on their website that one should not use it on broken skin [Peeled skin] and extremely sensitive skin. We always think our skin is sensitive no matter what, I might not have extremely sensitive skin but still I make sure to try skin care products keeping in mind that my skin might react badly. Be it any product no matter how much hyped it is, I would always recommend to patch test before a direct application on face. With this eye catching product  due to the presence of acids, I made sure to patch test. Here’ what I did- I applied little amount of it below my chin, waited for 10 mins and washed it off. I did a 36 hour test and noticed that the area which I applied for patch test was good and dint face any purging [ My heart felt good at that moment ;] ] . I was so ready to apply on my face. The texture of the peel is thick liquidy therefore it spreads nicely . Few pointers to keep in mind,

A] Use this if you have used acids earlier [Be it salicylic or glycolic acid]  .

B] Avoid if you have extremely sensitive skin
