Pimple patches are not new in the market they have been often talked about and used as an instant pimple healer. I have always been blessed with oily acne prone skin and I face constant battles with acne . We as humans are always in search for a quick fix for any problems but when it comes to skin one needs to keep in mind that healing skin issues does take its own time however they are certain products in market that can ease the process of healing and act like an instant fix such as an acne /pimple patch .Pimple patches are made of hydro-colloid which is nothing but a thick plastic material that helps in healing the wounds. This material absorbs fluids from pus and gets trapped , turning the patch into white therefore it can speed up the healing by keeping the primary area moist. Recently I was sent a package from a brand known as spot patch– this brand specializes in making acne patches. I have been using their patches for a while now read below to find out more about it..

The spot patch comes in three variants namely original , slim and free cut. I have received all the three variants . These come in a beautiful thick box , the patches are placed safely in a protective plastic cover. Original spot patch contains 21 pimple patches while the slim variant contains 18 spot patches. The free cut patch is a unique patch as it comes in a 10×10 size hydrocolloid sheet which can be cut and used as per our requirement.

My take on the product :-
Pimple patches do feel satisfying to use when you actually see visible difference on the size of the pimple post application. The best part about this brand is that it did provide variants for skin type , the slim spot patch variant is different from the original one as it contains centella asiatica which is a popular calming ingredient also its much slimmer than the original variant spot patch, the free cut contains centella asiatica and tea tree oil as well. If you are someone who gets acne then you know the primary phase of forming an acne would be a small pus which later turns into white head phase or even worst it can form into cystic acne. The best way to heal acne is to treat acne before it grows. Initially I tried the original spot patch, they come in three different sizes which is amazing as you can you choose the size as per the acne size. One of the important step before applying any acne patches is to make sure your hands are clean , your face is also properly cleansed and the acne area is completely dry. Make sure to always to pick the size that best fits the whole lesion .

Slim cut
I liked the fact that these patches were easy to use, they adhere to the pimple area nicely. I did apply the original variant for around 9 hours , however it can be applied for 24 hours as well. I could notice the hydrocolloid patch turning into different colour as it sucks out the debris from the pores. As I removed the patch , I could see the difference in the colour and size of the pimple however the pimple dint completely vanished or anything. I did use another patch on the same area, this time I applied the slim variant which contains centella asiatica, as this one is slimmer it almost looks like an invisible protection seal and it can be easily hidden underneath makeup too. I did use these ones couple of times and applied makeup on top and trust me no one could notice that I had spot patch on my face which is great. Without makeup application also the slim variant almost merges into skin and provides healing. I applied this for 24 hours and after removal I could immediately notice difference in the size of the pimple . These spot patch can be an instant fix for healing acne like white heads however they are not effective on black heads or even cystic acne unless they are medicated. Previously I did try acne patches but I think patches from spot patches provided the most effective results .
Overall verdict :-
If you are looking for a high quality hydrocolloid acne patches then you must try spot patch . They work effectively by sucking out moisture from pores which thereby prevents infection and helps to speed up the recovery and prevent the formation of acne scars.They further provide UV protection to the pimple which is healing. Although acne patches sounds like a quick risk free acne fix but it might not be the only product you would want to solve the root cause of acne. I would anyway recommend trying patch from spot patch as they are reasonable and effective when compared to other acne patches in the market.
