Is an MBA in India Really Overrated? Experts question the value of an MBA in India, considering it one of the finest degrees for securing a job or rapidly expanding a business. They raise the topic of debate regarding its value in India. Almost every above-average management college in India boasts 100% placement rates and top multinational companies recruit students at handsome salaries.

However, the increasing number of applicants for an MBA in India year after year raises questions about the degree’s true value and relevance in the Indian job market.

MBA in India is Really Overrated

Why MBA is a Better Option?

In India where the unemployment rate is quite low, searching for a job in India is quite tough, but it has been seen that the number of MBA applicants is increasing exponentially.  What would be the reason behind all of these increasing figures, Is Man BA in India really overrated? Yes, an MBA is overrated in India, and in India, one wants to do an MBA, and when you ask the question of why an MBA?

The most common answers you get are from my relatives or some other known people who have done an MBA and are doing good. Or the second best answer they give is to earn more money. But no one says that he/she is doing MBA because they have a genuine interest and many more even don’t know a single word about MBA. MBA has become highly overrated in India and it’s are some good reasons behind this. An MBA offers lots of opportunities to the students as well as a good career. I wish to highlight the advantages of an MBA or What an MBA provides to students in India.

Highlights MBA for Students in India

1. Provides High Salary Packages:

MBA offers high salary packages to individuals after completing an MBA and it might be the reason behind the increasing number of applicants for an MBA.

2. Over-Growing Scope for MBA Graduates:

These days everyone wants to do an MBA and the main reason for this is that the scope of growth in this field is much more when compared to any other field.

3. Open to any graduates without any criteria:

It’s open for any graduate from any field for e.g. the scope for a simple arts graduate is nowhere but when the same graduate completes his MBA from any top b school in India his importance is much increased. Not only graduates but also software engineers are moving towards an MBA due to the above reasons.

4. Different Disciplines Available:

If you enroll in an MBA course, you will get an opportunity to specialize in any field of your choice. Many good colleges and B schools present many options for specializing while pursuing an MBA. The options are sales, marketing, human resources, information technology, media management, biotechnology, finance, operations, and production.

MBA in India is mushrooming to a great extent and many more universities are opening every day. I would say that pursuing an MBA from the top 20 colleges in India is the best option but from other colleges is not a good option. Investing a lot of money for pursuing an MBA from an ordinary college is not a good option.

5. Skills Over Degree in Today’s Job Market

The job market is currently evolving and companies are increasingly hiring based on high-rated skills rather than degrees. Many Companies now prioritize:
