Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan has sparked controversy with her latest remark about the festival of Holi. Currently seen in Celebrity MasterChef, Farah made a statement that upset many people.
Trolled by people
During a recent conversation, Farah Khan referred to Holi as a festival celebrated by ‘chhapri’ people. She said, “Saare chhapri logon ka favourite festival Holi hota hai.” This comment did not go well with many social media users, who felt that she had insulted the festival and its significance.
People took to social media to express their anger. One user wrote, “Do you ever talk about any of your festivals? Disgusting.” Another commented, “What the heck does she mean… Aur chhapri… ha ha ha, look who’s talking.” Many others also criticised Farah, calling her statement insensitive and disrespectful.
Farah Khan’s dig at Udit Narayan’s controversy
Farah Khan was also in the news recently for her comments about singer Udit Narayan. During a fun conversation on her YouTube channel, she made a joke referring to his past kissing controversy.
Farah had invited her best friend, tennis star Sania Mirza, along with her son Izhaan Mirza Malik and sister Anam Mirza, to her house. A viral clip from the episode showed Farah jokingly asking Izhaan for a kiss before giving him a ball. She said, “First you have to give me a kiss, you know that.” Sania Mirza added, “Or give a hug.” Farah then joked, “Come on, do a Udit ji on me!” This left Sania laughing.
Izhaan, however, ran away with the ball instead of giving a kiss, making Farah joke, “Your son is becoming a robber, I want to tell you.”
Farah Khan’s recent statements have created a stir on social media, with many criticising her remarks on both occasions.
