About Ramadan and Iftar
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is a special time for Muslims all over the world. It’s a month of fasting, prayer, and thinking deeply. Throughout Ramadan, Muslims abstain from eating and drinking from sunrise to sunset, a practice known as fasting. To break their fast each day, they enjoy a meal called Iftar after sunset, which is the most important meal for those observing the fast.
Easy Iftar Recipes
I’ve been meaning to share this iftar recipe collection for a while now, especially since many of you have asked for simple and quick dishes perfect for breaking the fast. As some of you know, although I’m Hindu, I’m married to a Muslim. Whenever my husband is in Kolkata, he breaks his fast at home. I’ve learned a lot from observing my in-laws and try to keep our iftar meals easy. My mother-in-law prefers a light spread, usually just three or four items: an iftar drink, a couple of main dishes, a snack, a salad, and a sweet treat. Here, I’m sharing over fifty recipes, so you can easily choose your favorites to prepare. Do let me know how you like my Iftar Recipe Ideas?
