Top 7 New EVs Launching In The Coming Months – Maruti To Tata

Maruti Suzuki, Kia, MG and Tata Motors will launch multiple new electric cars in the Indian market in the coming months

Electric vehicles are currently the talk of the town and a bunch of car manufacturers in the Indian market are planning to launch new EVs in the coming months. From premium offerings to affordable mass-market models, let’s look at the top 7 electric cars launching in the coming months.

1. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Maruti Suzuki officially unveiled the e Vitara in the Indian market at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo early this year. Scheduled go on sale next month, the home-grown carmaker’s first electric car in India will be available with two battery pack options i.e. 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The larger battery pack will deliver a claimed range of over 500 kilometres on a single charge. The e Vitara is based on an all-new born-electric skateboard platform, the Heartect-e.

2. MG Windsor EV Long Range

Since its launch in September 2024, the MG Windsor EV has been selling in good numbers, overtaking the Tata Nexon EV. However, with its current 37.9 kWh battery pack, claiming a range of 331 kilometres, the EV leaves a lot to be desired for buyers looking for a longer range.

MG Windsor EV-7

In order to address this concern, MG is planning to launch a 50 kWh battery pack option of the Windsor EV which is already on sale in some international markets. Expected to launch next month i.e. April 2025, the long-range version will come with claimed figures of 460 kilometres on a single charge.

3. Tata Harrier EV

Tata Harrier EV was officially unveiled at the 2025 Auto Expo and is scheduled to go on sale in April this year, along with the price announcement. Based on the brand’s Gen 2 Acti.ev architecture, the electric SUV uses a heavily modified electric-specific version of the current OMEGA-Arc platform.

Harrier EV

While the details are under wraps, the company says that the electric Harrier will have 500 Nm of peak torque. In addition to this, a dual-motor AWD setup will also be a part of the package. Once launched, the Harrier EV will rival the likes of Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and Hyundai Creta Electric amongst others.

4. MG Cyberster Electric Sportscar

MG showcased the Cyberster EV at the 2025 Auto Expo in January and it is expected to launch next month. The pre-bookings of the electric sportscar have already commenced. The Cyberster EV will rival the likes of BYD Seal EV, Hyundai IONIQ 5 and Kia EV6 in the Indian market.

MG’s first sportscar in India will get the top-of-the-line 77kWh battery pack option, paired with two electric motors putting out 544 bhp and 725 Nm of peak torque. The AWD variant has a claimed range of 580 kilometres on a single charge and can do the 0-100 kmph sprint in just 3.2 seconds.

5. MG M9

MG M9

MG officially unveiled the M9 in the Indian market at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo in January. Scheduled for a launch in April 2025, the pre-bookings for the premium electric MPV have already commenced. In India, the all-electric M9 premium MPV will come with a 90kWh battery pack. The power output figures stand at 245 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque with a claimed WLTP of 430 kilometres on a single charge. Once launched, the MG M9 will rival the likes of the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire in the Indian market.

6. Kia EV6 Facelift

Kia officially unveiled the EV6 facelift in India at the 2025 Auto Expo. Scheduled for a launch in June 2025, the bookings of the EV6 facelift have already commenced. The updated electric car sports a host of changes to the package such as a revised front fascia, a new design for alloy wheels and a few updates to the interiors as well as new feature additions.

The highlight of the EV6 facelift is the larger 84kWh battery pack with a claimed range of over 650 kilometres on a single charge. Power output figures for the dual-motor AWD setup of the EV6 facelift stand at 325 hp and 605 Nm of peak torque.

7. Kia Carens EV

Kia is currently working on the electric Carens and it is scheduled for a launch in the Indian market in June this year. The Carens EV will share its design with the Carens Facelift which is due for a launch next month. However, there will electric specific changes to the styling, such as a blanked-off front grille, aero-efficient wheels, EV badging inside out and more.

In terms of features, a 360-degree parking camera, panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS are expected to be the new additions. While the powertrain details are not known yet, the Carens EV is expected to share the battery pack and electric motor with the Hyundai Creta Electric, claiming a range of over 400 kilometres on a single charge.
