Aaditi Pohankar is an Indian actress who appears in Hindi and Tamil films and web series. She had her breakthrough role alongside Riteish Deshmukh in the Marathi action film Lai Bhaari (2014). She gained wider attention for her roles in the Hindi web series She and Aashram (both 2020–present). In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Aaditi S Pohankar reveals if her spirituality ever affected her filming for Bobby Deol’s Aashram.
Aaditi S Pohankar Answers If Spirituality Ever Affected Working In Aashram
When asked if her thoughts on spirituality ever clashed while filming intimate scenes in Aashram, Aaditi S Pohankar said, “So, I will tell you that I started my spiritual journey with my mother’s passing away. I started looking out. I started, I did so many modalities because I was like maza nahi aaraha hai life main yaar life where, doston ko he bolti thi is there like you are so successful and I got success. You know, honestly Ankita, I got success aise he matlab. I am not talking about being becoming this top most actor mere liye jo success tha naa mere ko mila. Mere ko mere pehli film mein jo hoti chhoti bachchi type thi mein children’s play hai.”
Aaditi On How She Got Lai Bhaari
Aaditi said, “I got into Lai Bhaari, and it became I was like wah, great small, small things make me very, very happy. Then she became you were in the Azalis. Yeah, she became like so like so because it was such an experiment, no makeup, plus that content is such content is such, who will see watch God or he knows if they like it or not. Plus wo thandi hai thandi hai wo brief tha mera mere ko yaar thandi matlab performance tona ye ho jaye yaar performance energy chaahiye naa. Even in that thanda you show performance, right? Oof, it was so tricky.”
Adding further, she said,” I used to live right here on JP road and then so the sea facing house, I remember every day has to watch the sea and say see the sea is doing his job, I should do my job. The sun is doing its job; I should do my job, you know. The Moon is doing its job; I should do my job. Gravity is doing its job; I should do my job. That’s it, this was spirituality for me.”
She added,” It began like that, then some quantum science, quantum physics, metaphysics complete because I like to read, and I like to understand. I can’t be like Ye paduka abhishek hota hai kyonki kyonki karna padta hai kyonki bataao bataao tu samajh mein aayega ye havan hota hai tabhi maja aayega so ye hua. And then magically what happened was I had an intervention of the of the divine form to teach me this.”
Aaditi S Pohankar On Spiritual Teachings
The Aashram actress continued, “Because what happens is you know, honestly everything is happening time bound. Us vakt mere liye utana kaafi tha, utana mila aage jake mujhe utana chaahiye tha toh utana mila. Tph conflicting thoughts kabhi aise nahi aaye, ki arey pata nahi kya ho raha hai ye ho raha hamesha se pata tha kuchh toh hai jo humko pakad ke rakh raha hai jo ye dil ki dhadkan chala raha hai. Breath chala raha hai because when you see anybody, I am sure everybody has seen people go. You see that they don’t breathe? No, they become cold. Then you are like, oh, breath is the most important thing. It is more important than diamonds also. It is more important than intellectual rights.”
She added, “Also, it is more important than anything, right? So who manages those breaths? That kind of that one thought and who am I? Who am I was one thought which kept pushing me towards who am I whoever the moment. I found somebody who could tell me this, spoken not like haan mere anubhav se ho raha hai because anubhav se kya hota hai. Your mind and you are different people, right? The mind always tells you coincidence hai. Uske daave ke saath kaun bata raha hai. Then I met somebody like the teachings of Mahavatar Babaji and understanding who he is, Autobiography of a Yogi.”
Aaditi S Pohankar On Following A Spirituality And Its Connection
She talks about spiritual teachings, “So those are the teachings you know I am following, and it just makes sense. Ki ye kyon ho raha hai wo kyon ho raha hai her cheez mein wo matlab banne laga toh. Maine kahaa ye toh spirituality nahi ye toh education hai you know. And then you keep going forward with that education. This is how simply I got connected on a spiritual path, and I think people who say I do affirmations, that is because I was one of them.“
Adding further, “That’s only shunning something off on a very superficial level. When you go inside, no pain hota hai because andar jo sanskar hote hai na uski dhulai hoti hai. Oh owner, zaruri hai, because then what will happen when you tell the divine take care of me and you surrender to that divine? It will come in many ways because it has to wash you off first, then this thing, then it makes sense why you do paduka abhishek, and also then it makes sense why you surrender. You bow down for your own self.”
Aaditi Speaks On Mind-Working
In the same interview, Pohankar said, “He is not saying to all of this he has in the divine form or the formless does not matter, does not matter everything here. So it connects with quantum science; it connects with metaphysics. But the moment I sit in a cafe and keep talking about quantum physics and ohh, breaking the habit of being yourself, That’s all 50 names I will take. You know, Brian, this one. Then you are like, yeah, mind starts working in that direction, and then you just become a very academic person.
Concluding, the actress said, “And then you tell them you don’t say this, but say the word change. You don’t do this. You don’t say this is lakh, this is lakh, this is abundance. This is it just use mein aap has rahe pyaar se toh koso door kyonki pur gussa aata hai phir uska kaun solve karega. So you know this journey has been like that for me like hockey ki kabhi yahaan kabhi yahaan kabhi ye kabhi wo aur ismein mera acting kabhi poora game ho jaata hai. Because, you know I apply that teaching here. I am saying what more do you want?“
