I hope all of you are enjoying the spring season! Today, I’m reviewing the Huygens Paris Bois Rose Organic Regenerating Face Wash. I previously reviewed the Infusion Blanche Purifying Face Wash on my blog two years ago, and today, I’ll share my experience with this Bois Rose Regenerating Anti-Aging Face Cleansing Gel. It’s 100% clean, vegan, cruelty-free, and sulfate-free, but is it great for dry, sensitive skin? Let’s find out!
Product Description:
Organic face wash infused with essential oils of rosewood and lavender to stimulate skin regeneration. Its creamy foam gently removes impurities while helping to maintain the skin’s natural moisture balance. Does not dry out the skin and neutralizes the effects of hard water. For a bright and luminous complexion, supple and radiant skin. Particularly suitable for mature and/or dry skin.

My Experience with Huygens Paris Bois Rose Organic Regenerating Face Wash (Review)
(Skin type = Combination-dry, acne-prone, sensitive)
So, both Huygens face wash samples landed in my Birchbox, and after using the purifying Infusion Blanche, I was quite excited to try the Bois Rose one. But did it impress me? Did it live up to the hype? Keep reading!
Product Packaging:
I got a 30ml sample in a tube with a flip-top, which is pretty standard. All the info, except the ingredients, is on the back. The only bummer? It tends to leak, so definitely not travel-friendly. Ugh, nobody likes a leaky tube in their bag 🥺!

Product Texture:
This regenerating face wash has a clear, gel texture with a runny consistency. It also has a strong herbal scent. You either love it or hate it!

Product Performance:
You only need a tiny amount of this face wash to cleanse your face and neck. I usually dispense a small amount onto my fingertips, massage it gently onto my wet skin, and rinse it off with lukewarm water. However, dispensing the product is a bit tricky due to its super runny texture, watch out for spills!
This regenerating gel cleanser does create a nice, foamy lather despite being sulfate-free, and it’s made with 99% natural ingredients and 10.8% organic ones. Infused with rosewood essential oil, it claims to be a daily treatment to improve skin regeneration. However, it didn’t live up to my expectations 😭!
With rosewood, bergamot, and lavender as key ingredients, I expected major hydration! But, sadly, it actually dried out my skin a bit 😕. I usually go for creamy cleansers because of my combination-dry skin, but since this came in my beauty box, I didn’t have a choice.

Now, as a cleanser, it does its job! It removes sunscreen, dirt and impurities like a champ, leaving my face feeling super clean and fresh 🙂. But my skin feels tight afterwards, so I have to immediately apply a nourishing serum and moisturizer.
I didn’t notice any major skin improvements, but on the plus side, it didn’t cause any breakouts or irritate my sensitive skin. Yes, the scent is strong, but since I enjoy scented skincare products, I didn’t mind it.
Despite claiming to be dry-skin friendly, I’d say this is much better for summer when my skin gets oily and sweaty. In winter, I definitely need something more moisturizing. So, if you have combination to oily skin, this might be a good fit for you 😉!
I always rotate my skincare products depending on the season and my skin’s condition. Do you stick to the same product all year round, or do you switch things up?
