Jaat is for the masses only. It will, therefore, work in single-screen cinemas and in small centres but business in multiplexes and big cities will be below the mark. Ladies, families and classes will not like the film. In the final tally, therefore, the film will not be able to do much at the ticket windows and will prove to be a loss-making enterprise.

Jaat reinforces why the big-screen experience remains unmatched. Some films just feel better in a dark theatre with surround sound. It also proves that strong entertainment value can help smooth over narrative bumps. This one’s a solid time at the movies.

Jaat is the perfect gift from South to all Sunny paaji’s fans. Sunny can give a run to the young actors, and he proved it with Jaat. Also, it’s high time Hindi filmmakers should learn how to present a star with material that justifies their stature. If you were disappointed with Salman Khan’s Sikandar, you will go crazy after watching Jaat. Don’t miss Jaat at any cost.

Sunny Deol is back to deliver what his fans expect from him; however, that essentially means it’s the same old formula. The film runs on bloodshed and violence, but it looks artificial and doesn’t scare you, just makes you cringe and hope it’s over. If you are a fan of action genre and vintage Sunny Deol – watch it once.

Sunny Deol-starrer leaves you numb, unmoving, and desensitised. Sacrificed at the altar of all that gruesome blood-letting and mutilated bodies hanging from the rafters and savaged women forced to huddle together in this Sunny Deol-Randeep Hooda-starrer is coherence and plot.

Sunny Deol also gets his share of monologues, where he taps into his ‘Gadar’, ‘Border’ and ‘Ghayal’ zone. He is introduced amid a Ramayan theme, with a ‘Jai Shri Ram’ song bursting in the background. Jaat is not unfamiliar, but Sunny Deol’s presence makes it a fun watch.

Jaat is a perfect theatre worthy movie and unapologetically brash. Most of the time while watching the film, you can feel the north south conflict which is just too harsh. An absolutely massy film which is good for a one-time watch. The emotions are high and so are the actions, so what are you waiting for, just head to the nearest cinema halls.

Unless you are an inveterate Sunny Deol fan, Jaat would be best avoided. But even if you are, the egregious violence and the monotonous plotting might prove to be impediments. The film has the rhythm of a bulldozer (that is the moniker the combative hero earns) – it is overly noisy and drably lumbering.

It’s a decent one-time watch for fans of old-school Deol-led actioners, but for anyone seeking innovation or depth, Jaat may feel like a missed opportunity wrapped in a thunderous punch.
