Upcoming Cars In Next 2 Months
New Kia Carens
The updated Kia Carens is ready to arrive in the next 2 months, with premium feature upgrades. Unofficial bookings for the new model have already been commenced at an initial amount of Rs 25,000. The 2025 Kia Carens is expected to borrow design elements and features from the Syros including the Trinity Panoramic Display, rear ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 360 degree camera and ADAS. The existing 1.5L NA petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engines will continue to be on offer.
Kia Carens EV
The Kia Carens EV is likely to launch in June 2025, aiming to challenge MG Windsor EV. The MPV’s electric version will be based on the updated Carens, but it will carry some EV-specific design elements. The powertrain setup of the Carens EV is expected to include a 42kWh battery pack and a 135bhp, electric motor, sourced from the Hyundai Creta Electric. Its range will be over 350km on a single charge.
Maruti e Vitara
Select Nexa dealers have started accepting bookings for the upcoming Maruti e Vitara SUV. While its official launch date is yet to be announced, it’s expected to arrive in May. The carmaker will introduce its first-ever EV with two battery pack options – 49kWh and 61kWh, sourced from BYD. The smaller battery pack is good for 143bhp, while the larger battery offers a maximum power of 173bhp. Maruti Suzuki confirmed that the e Vitara (in its higher spec version) will promise an MIDC range of over 500km.
Tata Harrier EV
Tata Motors will roll out the Harrier EV in the next two months. However, its launch date and details are yet to be announced. This electric SUV is expected to be offered with multiple battery packs, and the dual electric motor setup could be reserved for the higher trims. The Tata Harrier EV is claimed to offer a maximum torque of 500Nm. The EV will support both V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2C (vehicle-to-charge) functionalities along with the AWD (all-wheel drive) system.
Volkswagen Golf GTI
Following the Tiguan R Line, the German automaker will introduce the Volkswagen Golf GTI in India. The hot-hatch will feature a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine under the hood. This motor, with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, produces a maximum power of 265bhp and 370Nm of torque. It will come with the FWD (front-wheel drive) system. The Golf GTI is claimed to do 0 to 100kmph in just 5.9 seconds and offer a top speed of 250kmph.
MG Cyberster
Official bookings for the MG Cyberster electric sports car are already underway nationwide. With an estimated price of around Rs 60 – Rs 70 lakh, it will be the most affordable sports car in the country. The Cyerster will also be the first MG to be sold via MG Select premium showrooms. Its powertrain setup consists of a 77kWh battery pack and an electric motor, delivering a combined power of 510bhp and 725Nm of torque. With an AWD system, it does 0 to 100kmph in 3.2 seconds. The MG Cyberster delivers a range of 580km on CLTC cycle.
MG M9
JWS MG Motor India will launch the new M9 luxury electric MPV in the next couple of months. It will be a direct rival of the Kia Carnival, priced at Rs 63.91 lakh (ex-showroom). The MG M9 will feature a 90kWh battery pack and an electric motor, delivering a combined power of 241bhp and 350Nm of torque. With this powertrain setup, it offers a range of 430km on a single charge and supports charging via an 11kW AC and a DC fast charger up to 120kW, going from 10 to 80 percent in about 9 hours and 36 minutes, respectively.
Tata Altroz Facelift
Tata’s premium hatchback – Altroz – is ready to receive a midlife update in the next two months. Minimal changes are expected inside and out. The 2025 Tata Altroz facelift is likely to feature a slightly revised front bumper and grille. Inside, it might get new upholstery, updated door trims and a few new features. No mechanical changes are expected. The updated Altroz will continue to use the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engines, offering 86bhp with 113Nm and 90bhp with 200Nm, respectively.
Mahindra XUV3XO EV
The Mahindra XUV3XO EV has been on test for a while now. This compact electric SUV will compete against the Tata Nexon EV and the upcoming Kia Syros EV. While there is no official word on its powertrain and details, it’s expected to feature a smaller version of the XUV400 EV’s 40kWh battery pack – likely to be around 35kWh. The XUV 3XO electric SUV will feature some EV-specific design element, both inside and out.
Nissan Magnite CNG
Nissan India will soon roll out the Magnite subcompact SUV with a CNG kit, which will be available as a dealer-installed accessory. The kit will come with one-year warranty, and is expected to cost around Rs 79,000 or Rs 79,500. It could be offered only on select trims. The Nissan Magnite CNG will be offered with a 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with a CNG kit and a manual gearbox. No other changes will be made to its design and interior.
