Aiming to cater the increasing demand for spacious and family-friendly SUVs and MPVs, all major OEMs are set to launch several 7-seater models in 2025. From petrol and electric 7-seater SUVs/MPVs to rugged mild hybrid and performance-focused models, manufacturers won’t leave a single stone to unturned. Here’s a sneak peek at the top 12 product launches in the three-row segment.

Upcoming Maruti 7-Seater SUV
Maruti Suzuki has confirmed a new SUV for the second half of 2025, which is most likely the 7-seater version of the Grand Vitara. The model will share its platform, features and several design elements with its 5-seater sibling. In fact, the powertrain setup will also be carried forward from the 5-seater Grand Vitara. The 7-seater Maruti Grand Vitara will be longer than its younger sibling, and offer an additional row of seats. Maruti Suzuki might also equip it with an ADAS suite, a panoramic sunroof, a larger infotainment system, ventilated front seats and a slightly updated exterior design.
Upcoming Tata 7-Seater SUVs
Tata Motors might introduce the Safari SUV with petrol and electric powertrain options in 2025. The petrol version is likely to feature a 1.5L TGDi engine, pushing out a maximum power of 170PS and 280Nm of torque. The Tata Safari EV could be offered with an 80kWh battery pack, offering a range of around over 500km.
Upcoming Mahindra 7-Seater SUVs
The home-grown automaker will launch its third born-electric offering towards the end of 2025. Called the Mahindra XEV 7e, the electric SUV is expected to come with the dual-motor AWD configuration and a large battery pack. This setup will offer a maximum power of 350bhp and 450Nm of torque. Mahindra might also give a midlife update to the Scorpio N SUV this year.
Upcoming Kia 7-Seater MPVs
Kia India is all set to launch the updated Carens and the Carens EV in the next couple of months. The MPV will receive a premium upgrade next week (on 8th May) with features such as a 360 degree camera, Level 2 ADAS tech, dual 10.25-inch screens, a panoramic sunroof, and more. The Kia Carens EV will arrive in June, offering two battery pack options – 42kWh and 51.4kWh. The smaller battery will deliver a range of around 390km, while the larger one will offer a range of over 470km.
Upcoming MG 7-Seater SUV
The MG Majestor is set to hit Indian roads in May 2025. Under the hood, the SUV will feature a 2.9L, 4-cylinder twin turbo diesel engine, pushing out a peak power of 216bhp and 479Nm torque. The Majestor is essentially a sportier and more premium variant of the updated Gloster SUV. To give a more rugged appearance, the carmaker has made some cosmetic changes to the SUV.
Upcoming Toyota 7-Seater SUVs
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is likely to launch the 7-seater Hyryder (essentially the rebadged version of the 7-seater Maruti Grand Vitara) in the second half of 2025. The SUV will share its platform, powertrains, design and features with the 5-seater Hyryder, expect for the badging, stretched length and an additional row of seat. Toyota might also introduce the mild hybrid version of the Fortuner towards the end of 2025.
Upcoming Renault & Nissan 7-Seater MPVs
Renault is gearing up to launch the updated version of the Triber MPV in the coming months. The model is expected to receive subtle changes inside and out, while retaining the same engines. Nissan will also roll out a new three-row MPV in 2025, based on the Triber MPV. However, it will feature slightly different design elements compared to its donor sibling.
Upcoming Skoda 7-Seater SUV
The new-gen Skoda Kodiaq recently went on sale in India. The Czech automaker will also bring in the performance-focused version of the Kodiaq SUV towards the end of 2025. Under the hood, the Skoda Kodiaq RS will feature a 2.0L TSI turbo petrol engine, generating a maximum power of 265bhp and 370Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be performed by a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
