The Pahalgam Terror Attack sent shockwaves across the nation. The attack also had an adverse impact on Pakistani artistes. Many called for a blanket ban on Pakistani artistes working in India. As an aftermath, social media accounts of many Pakistani artistes got blocked in India. One of the accounts was that of Hania Aamir. The Pakistani actress was among the first few from the across the border to condemn the terror attack. She enjoys a great fan following in India but now her account shows unavailable in India. Amid this, a controversial statement attributed to her went viral on social media. The statement allegedly was of a request made to the Prime Minister to not punish the ‘ordinary Pakistanis’. The actress has now broken her silence on the same.

Taking to her social media account, Hania Aamir clarified that the statement attributed to her is fake. She hasn’t made any such remark. In a note, she reportedly wrote that she does not endorse or align with the words being addressed to her. She shared that it is ‘fabricated’ and ‘misrepresents’ who she is.

She further shared that it is a deeply sensitive and emotional time and it is easy to let emotions cloud judgement. She further added that the actions of extremists do not represent a nation. She wrote, “In times like these, it’s easy to let emotions cloud our judgment, but we must remember: the actions of extremists do not represent an entire nation or its people. Assigning blame without proof only deepens divides and distracts from the real need for compassion, justice, and healing”.

Hania Aamir further urged her supporters to check the truth before sharing it. She also asked all to approach the difficult times with kindness and clarity. She extended her condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the attack and hoped for peace.

Though Hania Aamir’s Instagram has been blocked in India, screenshot of her post has made its way to the internet. Earlier, reports in entertainment news had it that the actress may get replaced in Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming movie Sardaar Ji 3.
