An interview with Saurabh Tyagi, Co-founder & CEO, PropChk, a leading Home Inspection Company
In this exclusive interview, we speak with Saurabh Tyagi, Co-founder and CEO of PropChk, a pioneering home inspection company.
Saurabh shares his insights on the importance of thorough home inspections, the challenges faced in the industry, and how PropChk is transforming the real estate landscape.
What inspired the founding of PropChk, and how does your platform aim to address the traditional challenges in property inspection across India?
Saurabh Tyagi: PropChk was founded with a clear purpose: to bridge the trust gap that exists in India’s property market. Traditionally, property inspections in India have been inconsistent, non-standardized, and often influenced by subjective opinions. This left buyers vulnerable to hidden defects and poor construction quality.
We saw a need for a professional, tech-enabled approach that delivers accurate, impartial, and actionable insights.
By combining the expertise of qualified engineers with state-of-the-art tools and standardized checklists, PropChk aims to make home inspections accessible, transparent, and essential for every property transaction.
Our mission is to empower homeowners and developers alike with reliable data, so they can make confident and informed decisions.
Can you walk us through the technology stack that powers PropChk? How are AI, automation, or other digital tools enhancing the property verification process?
Saurabh Tyagi: PropChk leverages a robust technology stack that integrates modern inspection tools with smart digital platforms.
Our engineers use high-precision hardware—like laser measurers, moisture meters, and thermal cameras—while on-site. The data collected is synced with our proprietary software that structures it according to predefined industry standards.
We’re also introducing AI and automation to flag common defect patterns, recommend fixes, and generate dynamic inspection reports faster.
Every inspection is documented with photographic evidence, and our digital dashboard allows clients to easily access, track, and act upon findings. As we evolve, we’re actively exploring the use of machine learning for predictive maintenance insights and anomaly detection.
Given the complexities of Indian real estate documentation and compliance, how does Propchk ensure accuracy and transparency in its inspection reports?
Saurabh Tyagi: Transparency and accuracy are the core of our inspection philosophy. While we don’t directly handle legal documentation, PropChk plays a critical complementary role by validating the physical integrity and quality of the property.
Every inspection is guided by a comprehensive checklist tailored to Indian construction norms and real estate conditions.
Our engineers meticulously examine every component—from electrical wiring and plumbing to structural finishes—and back every observation with photographic evidence.
The final report is not only easy to understand but also designed to support decision-making and compliance.
By offering objective and verifiable insights, we help reduce ambiguity and support stakeholders in navigating complex real estate decisions more confidently.
How has the response been from homebuyers, real estate developers, and brokers? Are there any success stories or key partnerships that highlight Propchk’s impact so far?
Saurabh Tyagi: The response has been overwhelmingly positive across the board. Homebuyers see us as a critical ally in their purchasing journey, helping them avoid expensive post-possession surprises.
Developers appreciate our role in ensuring quality assurance and boosting buyer trust, especially in competitive markets. We’ve also built strong working relationships with brokers and real estate consultants who rely on our assessments to enhance credibility during transactions.
A key milestone was our expansion across India’s top metros, supported by repeat clients and referral-driven growth.
We’ve also partnered with leading real estate platforms and developers to integrate PropChk as part of their standard due diligence offerings—a testament to the value we bring to the ecosystem.
What’s next for PropChk? Are you looking at expanding into Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, or integrating new features like predictive analytics or blockchain for property records?
Saurabh Tyagi: Absolutely—our vision includes expanding both geographically and technologically. We are actively working to bring PropChk’s services to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, where the need for independent, tech-driven inspection services is growing rapidly.
On the technology front, we’re exploring features like predictive analytics to offer proactive maintenance recommendations and long-term cost forecasting.
Blockchain is another exciting frontier we’re evaluating, especially for creating immutable inspection records that could eventually integrate with digital property registries.
As PropChk continues to evolve, our goal remains the same: to redefine how property inspections are conducted in India, ensuring every home is a safe, smart, and sound investment.
As the conversation wraps up, Saurabh Tyagi emphasizes the critical role of home inspections in ensuring buyer confidence and safety.
With PropChk at the forefront, he envisions a future where informed decisions lead to better homeownership experiences, ultimately reshaping the real estate market for the better.
