All-new Kia Carens Clavis is available in seven variants, with the choice of three engine options and eight monotone colours
Kia has officially unveiled the Carens Clavis in the Indian market, and it is the mid-cycle facelift update of the Carens MPV. The Korean carmaker is positioning the new MPV as a premium version of the Carens nameplate. The bookings of the new Carens Clavis have commenced for a token amount of Rs. 25,000, and the prices are scheduled to be announced on May 23. In this article, we will dive into the variant-wise features, colours and specs of the Kia Carens Clavis.
With no mechanical changes, the new MPV continues to be powered by the familiar set of petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.5-litre Smartstream naturally aspirated petrol engine puts out 115 bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The more potent 1.5 litre tGDi petrol engine produces 160 bhp and 253 Nm of peak torque.
This engine can be had with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox option. Lastly, the 1.5-litre CRDi turbo diesel engine comes with power output rated at 116 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque, paired with the option of a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Dimensionally, the new Carens Clavis measures 4,550 mm long, 1,800 mm wide and 1,708 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,780 mm. It is available with eight monotone colour options: Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Sparkling Silver, Aurora Black Pearl and Clear White.
