On the night of May 8, between 8:00 pm and 11:30 pm, Pakistan launched a large drone attack on India, according to Indian Army sources. About 500 small drones were sent into the sky, aiming at 24 different cities in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.
Indian soldiers and airmen were fully prepared. The Indian Army and Air Force quickly stepped in and stopped the drone strike. They used powerful anti-air systems like the L70, ZU-23, Schilka, and Akash to shoot down or block the drones.
On May 7, India carried out an operation named Operation Sindoor. In this mission, India says it targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. India also stressed that it did not hit any military bases during this action.
In reply, on May 8, Pakistan tried to hit several Indian locations, including important military areas in Jammu and Pathankot, sources said.
Thanks to India’s strong air defence, no major damage was done. The drones were stopped in the air, and no people or important places were hurt, according to officials.
