The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has announced that two of its professors, Prof. Chennupati Jagadish and Mallikarjun Tatipamula, have been elected as Fellows of the Royal Society (FRS), one of the highest recognitions in the global scientific community.
The Fellowship of the Royal Society is awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of natural knowledge, spanning disciplines such as mathematics, engineering, and medical science.
Chennupati Jagadish, a faculty member at the Australian National University, is renowned for being the first Indian and non-European Australian to be elected President of the Australian Academy of Science. He currently serves as an advisor to the Australian Government and Parliament on matters of science and technology.
Mallikarjun Tatipamula, who is the Chief Technology Officer at Ericsson, has been recognised for his work in the development of 5G and next-generation network technologies.
