Hyderabad: The Telangana Civil Liberties Association on Wednesday condemned the Narayanpur encounter in which the banned Maoist top leader Nambala Keshava Rao was gunned down.
Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, the Civil Liberties Committee president Prof Laxman alleged that it was a fake encounter in killing more than 27 Maoists in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. Even though the Maoists announced the ceasefire and proposed amicable discussions with the government, the BJP-led NDA government had deliberately indulged in killing Maoists on pretext of encounters.
Laxman also stated that it was a loss to the Maoist party after killing Kambala Kesava Rao. Security forces indulged in killing the Maoists on pretext of encounters. He demanded the governments to call for judicial inquiry into the incident.
