The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has received a grant of ₹5 crore from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) for the establishment of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Digital Twin Technology. The grant falls under HAL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
“We are thankful to HAL for this generous support to strengthen research and teaching at the University of Hyderabad. The upcoming Centre of Excellence will serve as a national resource for innovation and human resource development in digital twin technology,’‘ said B.J. Rao, Vice-Chancellor, UoH, in a release.
The proposal was conceptualised by UoH Professors Samrat Sabat and Siba Udgata, with key contributions from M. Ghanashyam Krishna. Sabat will lead the implementation of the project at the AI research Cluster under the IoE Interdisciplinary Centre.
The centre is envisioned to promote cutting-edge research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and capacity building in digital twin systems, which are increasingly crucial to sectors like aerospace, healthcare, manufacturing, and smart infrastructure.
