Sandeep Reddy Vanga‘s upcoming movie Spirit stars Prabhas as the male lead. Over the past few days, there was a lot of hullabaloo around the female lead of the film. Deepika Padukone was supposed to collaborate with Prabhas for the second time after Kalki 2898 AD for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. However, reports had it that the filmmaker ‘got a shock of his life’ due to demands made by the actress. Now, Sandeep Reddy Vanga has announced that Triptii Dimri is the female lead of his movie.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to officially announce the female lead of the movie. He shared a post that said that Triptii Dimri is the going to star opposite Prabhas in Spirit. The actress too responded to the post and mentioned that it is still ‘sinking in’. While netizens have a wild reaction to Triptii Dimri replacing Deepika Padukone in Spirit, Ram Gopal Varma has reacted too. He congratulated Triptii Dimri and mentioned that she will become the next big thing in Bollywood. Since the news hit headlines, netizens are divided on this choice of Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Many of the Deepika Padukone’s fans have come out in support of her. While others are thrilled with Triptii Dimri being onboard. Most of Prabhas’ fans believe that his name is enough to pull the audiences to the theatres.
Earlier, a report in entertainment news portal Bollywood Hungama stated that Deepika Padukone made demands that left Sandeep Reddy Vanga quite stumped. A source informed the portal “Sandeep Reddy Vanga got the shock of his life when Deepika Padukone refused to shoot for more than six hours a day for Spirit. That’s not all—the actress, via her agency, also began to demand amendments to the contract. Their main contention was simple: if the shoot extended beyond 100 days, Deepika would need to be paid extra for every single day beyond the agreed schedule.”
