Veteran actor, Suniel Shetty has been vocal about many things in his recent interviews. The 63-year-old actor has worked with and seen many actors and artists from the industry, observing them from close quarters. One such actor is Salman Khan, a.k.a. Bollywood’s beloved Bhaijaan. The Hera Pheri actor recently expressed his views on Salman Khan, adding that he’s one of the most misunderstood actors in the industry.
Suniel Shetty says Salman Khan is the ‘most misunderstood person on this planet’
Sunil Shetty recently had a candid conversation with The Lallantop, where he talked about several aspects of his life, along with his experience with different personalities from the industry. The actor pointed out that Salman Khan, despite being a superstar, is one of the most misunderstood people. The actor praised Salman for going through with a selected movie and making sure that he shines in whatever project he chooses. He said:
“Salman is a man who’s on a different level, he is the most misunderstood person on this planet. Sometimes actors make mistakes in the selection of the movie. If Salman gets a movie on a good topic, he makes sure to shine in it no matter what.”
Sunil Shetty praised Salman Khan for being a person who makes sure to go above and beyond in every work he does. Talking about the box office success of Salman’s movies, the Border actor pointed out how, unlike other stars, whose films are labelled super hits when they make Rs. 200 crore at the box office, Salman’s films are considered flops when they do the same. Sunil Shetty remarked:
“People don’t always get him. If I had to sum him up in two words, they’d be ‘human being’ and ‘being human’ — that’s exactly who Salman is. He’s a different kind of person, someone who goes above and beyond in everything he does… We call a Rs. 200 crore film of his a flop, but for most of the industry, that would be seen as a superhit. When he gets the right story, he creates magic. Even his so-called underperforming films earn Rs 200 crore. Compare that to most other releases this year — you’ll see none of them come close to that number.”
Salman Khan recently made his comeback to the silver screen with Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film, made on a massive budget of Rs. 200 crore, stars Rashmika Mandanna as Salman’s love interest. Despite the massive excitement surrounding its release, Sikandar could not meet audience expectations and was considered a flop as it struggled to recover its budget.

When Salman Khan said Sikandar would easily generate Rs. 200 crore
Before the release of Sikandar, Salman appeared at a trailer launch event in Mumbai with the rest of his cast members, where he was asked how much he expected Sikandar to make at the box office. To this, the superstar had cheekily remarked that even when his movies are not up to the mark, they easily generate Rs. 100 crore, and this time, it would earn Rs. 200 crore.
Suniel Shetty’s work front
Meanwhile, Sunil Shetty was supposed to make his big-screen return with the highly anticipated sequel of the classic comedy franchise, Hera Pheri, co-starring Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. However, after Paresh Rawal’s abrupt exit from the project and the subsequent legal feud with Akshay’s production banner, the chances of Hera Pheri 3 becoming a reality seem rather thin.
