Tata Harrier EV boast a range of 627 km on the MIDC cycle and the peak torque output stands at 504 Nm; gets two battery choices and lifetime battery warranty
Initially unveiled as a concept at the Auto Expo, the EV evolved steadily before debuting in its production form earlier this year at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Since then its market launch has been highly anticipated and it was clear right from the get go that Tata targets go-anywhere enthusiasts too courtesy of the all-wheel drive configuration.
Terrain modes like normal, mud rust, custom, rock crawl, snow/grass and sand enhance the vehicle’s off-road capability. A boost mode further supports rugged performance. The five-seater features a dual motor setup, powering each axle independently. Additional aids include transparent mode, off-road cruise assist and a 360-degree camera system.
It has an approach angle of 25.3 degrees, departure angle of 26.4 degrees and breakover angle of 16.6 degrees. The five colours offered are exclusive Stealth Black, Nainital Nocturne, Empowered Oxide, Pure Grey and Pristine White. Amidst sharing a lot with the IC-engined Harrier, the cabin gets a host of upgrades including the 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system – the world’s first QLED automotive display – with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, access to over 25 built-in apps and a digital instrument console with EV-specific graphics.

Tata claims the Harrier EV has 627 km range on MIDC cycle with the real-world range between 480 and 505 km. The model also offers V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) and V2L (vehicle-to-load) capabilities adding to its functional appeal and practicality. As Tata previously confirmed, the five-seater electric SUV delivers a peak torque output of 504 Nm. The LFP battery is from Octillion while the 116 kW induction front motor is sourced from Tata AutoComp and the 175 kW (235 bhp and 340 Nm with boost mode) rear e-motor from Schaeffler.
Tata offers the Harrier EV with a choice of two battery packs – 75 kWh and 65 kWh – paired with either rear-wheel drive or an all-wheel-drive setup, depending on the variant. It does 0-100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds. The electric SUV is built to tackle steep inclines, boasting over 50 per cent grade-ability. It supports fast charging too as it is capable of replenishing the battery from 20 to 80 per cent in about 25 minutes using a 120 kW DC charger and can get up to 250 km in just 15 minutes.

The charging options include 7.2 kW home and a 3.3 kW charger anywhere. The electric drivetrain of the Tata Harrier EV has been co-developed, tuned and customised by Tata in collaboration with Schaeffler. The battery pack has been designed and manufactured in India, supported by a localised supply chain.
Underpinning the SUV is Tata’s Acti.ev+ platform, a significantly reworked version of the OMEGA Arc architecture adapted specifically for electrification. The Tata Harrier EV carries a starting price of Rs. 21.49 lakh for the base trim (ex-showroom) and the cherry on top is the lifetime battery warranty. Its official bookings will open on July 2, 2025.
Following the Harrier EV, Tata is preparing to roll out the next-generation Sierra in both internal combustion and electric versions before the current financial year concludes. Parallel to this, development continues on the more upmarket Avinya lineup as the brand further endeavours to consolidate its stand as the top-selling EV maker in India.
