Are you someone who has never added essence to your regimen? Me neither. As our skin starts ageing I have noticed that the addition of hydrating essence helps in adding a healthy glow to our skin. Cosrx is a well known Korean skincare brand, as always I did jump on the skincare bandwagon and purchased one of the famous products from cosrx which is known as the advanced snail 96 mucin power essence. It’s quite a hyped product, I have been using this for 3 months now. Read below to find out if its worth the hype or not…

My take on the product:-
Research has found that the secretion of snail a.k.a. snail mucin promotes collagen production, aids in skin regeneration and healing. It’s one of the most trusted ingredients in the k beauty world. Apart from collagen production, the excretion of snails also claims to have multiple benefits for our skin. Cosrx snail mucin power essence contains filtrate snail secretion as a first and dominant ingredient along with a few very basic ingredients. It doesn’t have fragrance and is sulphate, alcohol-free. I was pretty excited to add this product to my regimen as it claims to – Deeply hydrate and moisturizes skin, Improves skin elasticity, and makes it healthy and plump, Additionally Cosrx also mentioned that the snail mucin power essence would also soothe inflammation, redness caused especially after breakouts by replenishing moisture content and makes it even suitable for oily skin and sensitive skin as well . I do have oily skin with occasional acne breakout, I started using this once a day after washing my face on my damp skin for better absorption. Texture-wise the cosrx advance snail mucin power essence is quite slimy and thicker, it has zero oil and is water-based which is a brownie point since it won’t clog our pores. so I used one pump all over, instead of spreading it like a moisturizer I just dab it gently on my skin. Initially, on the application, it feels a bit thick but within seconds it gets absorbed leaving a healthy glow. Depending on how my skin felt during that day I apply moisturizer on top, which means if I felt oily I would skip moisturizer and only apply the cosrx snail mucin however whenever skin felt dead dry specifically during winters I do layer with moisturizer. For me this product is still doing a wonderful job, I do use topical treatments on my acne occasionally and whenever my skin gets sensitive or red, the cosrx snail mucin has helped in soothing, calming the redness, and adding the right amount of hydration. Make sure to be mindful during application , do not slather this like a moisturizer , just use little and dab it. Therefore little goes a long way with this product . I have been using this for 3 months religiously and still, I have more than half a bottle left which is great. A couple of acne marks were also diminishing after continuous usage of this gem of a product. I totally believe Cosrx has nailed with the advanced snail mucin power essence as I could notice a good amount of difference on my skin after immediate usage. The best part is that it didn’t irritate my skin and neither caused acne or anything. This is a mild\ essence that provides optimal hydration to our skin.
