Bandra police arrestes struggling actor, fan trying to sneak into Salman Khan’s building

Mumbai: A woman who had trespassed into actor Salman Khan’s building in Bandra was mistaken security personnel for a resident of the building.

A police officer said that the confident walk and appearance of the woman, Isha Chhabria (32), a junior artiste, gave security personnel the impression that she was a resident of the building. The woman has claimed that she had met the actor at a party some time ago. Security at the actor’s home was beefed up after threats to him.

The woman allegedly reached the first floor of Galaxy Apartment, Bandra (west), bypassing security personnel at the entrance at 3am on Wednesday. She was arrested from her Khar residence on Thursday. The woman knocked on the door to the actor’s house with the intention of meeting him, the police said.

After a day in police custody, she had sought bail in Bandra court. On Friday, she was sent to judicial custody.

During questioning, the woman told the police about her decade-long struggle in the film industry. “She claims she entered the building in the early hours, hoping there would be fewer people around. She told the security personnel that she had been invited by the actor for a meeting at that time,” an officer from Bandra police station said.

Authorities said she has no crime record, and she only wanted to meet the actor who, they said, was not at home at the time.

While a police probe has begun into the security breach incident at the actor’s home, joint commissioner of police (Law & Order) Satyanarayan Chaudhari denied reports of any police officers being suspended for the same.

After two gatecrash attempts, visitor verification made mandatory at Salman Khan’s residence; cops tighten actor’s security

Diwakar Sharma (MID-DAY; May 24, 2025)

Verification of visitors has now been made mandatory before allowing entry into Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, where Bollywood actor Salman Khan resides. This protocol will be strictly followed going forward after two individuals recently attempted to forcibly enter the premises, said a Mumbai Police officer, adding that “some changes have also been made to Salman Khan’s security”.

According to police sources, a new security protocol is being considered for the actor’s safety. Under this system, any new visitor to Galaxy Apartments must verify their identity with a resident before being allowed entry.

This move comes in the wake of two serious incidents in which an unknown man and woman attempted to enter Khan’s private residence within a span of two days.

These incidents have not only raised concerns about the actor’s personal security but also highlighted the need for tighter surveillance at private residential buildings.

Police believe that enforcing identity verification can prevent unauthorized access to the apartment and bolster security around the actor, who is already under Y+  category protection.

Sources noted that such protocols are already standard in most residential societies: unknown visitors are required to inform the security guard of the resident they’re meeting, after which the guard confirms the visit via intercom before granting access.

That such a basic system wasn’t previously in place at the residence of one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, who faces credible threats, raises serious questions about existing security arrangements.

Gatecrash investigation

In the ongoing investigation involving model Isha Chhabra, who was arrested for attempting to enter Salman Khan’s residence, new details have emerged.

On May 21, at around 3.30 am, Isha reportedly arrived at the gate of Galaxy Apartmentsand told the guard she needed to go to the fourth floor. Once inside, she took the lift to the third floor, then descended to the first floor, where she rang the doorbell. When no one answered, a security guard confronted her. Asked who she was, Isha claimed that Salman Khan had called her. She then exited the building using the lift. During questioning, Isha told police she is a fan of the actor and had only come to meet him. She has been living in Mumbai since 2016 and moved to Bandra six months ago. She has acted in supporting roles in Kannada films and also works in commercials.

According to police sources, no suspicious activity has been found in the investigation so far.
