A remand prisoner who reportedly jumped the Ernakulam sub jail on Saturday morning was recaptured by the police from the nearby Mangalavanam late in the evening.
Mandi Biswas, 24, of West Bengal, had been remanded in a case registered under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. He was nabbed from the Ernakulam South railway station allegedly with 13.39 kg of ganja worth ₹6.69 lakh last Tuesday.
The police had launched a manhunt focussing on the Mangalavanam area after he reportedly jumped the sub jail in the afternoon.
