Sky Force box office collection day 2: As expected Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s film Sky Force makes a big jump on Saturday. Thanks to the extremely positive word of mouth and critic reviews that have actually helped the film to take a growth of 75-100% on day two.
Trade tracking portal Sacnilk revealed the early estimates for Saturday. As per the portal, Sky Force earned Rs 21 crores on its second day. The movie is expected to close on Saturday in the range of Rs 23-25 crores. Sky Force opened with Rs 12.25 crores on Friday, and with Saturday figures, the movie has collected in the range of Rs 33-37 crores. The war drama is expected to score higher on Sunday, as it will coincide with Republic Day. The first weekend of Sky Force will be under Rs 55-60 crores, and it is a great start to the year.
Sky Force is been loved by the masses and the love has translated into footfalls. Social media is full of reaction videos across different screenings, with moviegoers giving standing ovations and shouting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” in the cinema halls. The reception to Sky Force has brought back smiles from the distributors and exhibitors.
Sky Force directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur is based on the real event of the Indo-Pak War of 1965. Sky Force is centred around India’s first airstrike, the Sargodha airbase attack on Pakistan. In the movie Akshay Kumar plays Om Ahuja (fictionalisation of Om Prakash Taneja), and debutant Veer Pahariya plays T Vijaya (fictionalisation of Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya). Sky Force also stars Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan in key roles. The movie is produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner Maddock Films.
