National R&D Symposium
MulticoreWare, Inc., USA, conducted the National R&D Symposium in collaboration with Kalasalingam University. The Varsity Chancellor K. Sridharan presided over the symposium. Shashikanth Jayaraman, Chief Human Resource and Chief Staff of MulticoreWare, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the aim of the symposium to fulfil MulticoreWare’s commitment to bridge academia and industry through its MulticoreWare Academia Global Innovation Centre (MAGIC) programme.
Inaugurating the event, A. G. Karunakaran, MulticoreWare’s president and CEO, stressed three C’s—lessons: collaborate relentlessly, commitment, continuous learning.
Krishna Vedula, Founder of IUCEE, Hyderabad, emphasised that teaching must evolve to be dynamic by giving real world examples along with fundamental examples.
The keynote address was given by John Stratton, CTO, MulticoreWare, USA, on “Entering the second Golden Age of Performance Engineering”.
The company executives, Subramanian Emarajan and Suchithra Thyagarajan, Principal of CIT, A. Ramesh, spoke. The CEO distributed the MAGIC Awards.
S. Suprakash, Director, IR, co-ordinator of the event, A. Parivazhagan, KARE, organised the event.

Sri Krishnasamy Arts and Science College, Mettamalai, celebrated Freshers’ Day on June 11, 2025. The celebration commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp by K. Raju, chairman, R. Pappa Raju, vice-chairperson, R. Muthukumar, secretary, and R. Ushadevi, principal of the college.
Ms. Ushadevi presided over the function. The session began with the welcome address by K. Muthusujalakshmi, II B.A (Tamil). Actress Devayani Rajakumaran was the chief guest.
She underscored the importance of education. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by S. Amutha I BA (English). The celebration saw an active participation from both students and parents

World Environment Day was celebrated at Nehru Memorial Municipal Higher Secondary School, Dindigul, on June 5, with the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution.”
The event aimed to spread awareness of environmental protection and the harmful effects of plastic. Headmistress K. Thenmozhi welcomed the gathering. District Environmental Engineer R. Gunasekaran, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, Dindigul, presided over the function. The event was inaugurated by Mayor Illamathi Jothi Prakash. Kajamohideen, chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society, Dindigul district, spoke.
The event was organised by Er. A. Marimuthu. Head of the Department of Economics and Coordinator of the Environment Club P. Ravichandran delivered the special address on the significance of World Environment Day 2025.
He stressed the importance of avoiding single-use plastics and encouraged the use of eco-friendly alternatives like yellow cloth bags. As part of the campaign, 500 yellow cloth bags were distributed to students and the public.
About 25 “Pasumai Padai” student volunteers helped in distributing mementoes to the guests. The programme concluded with the planting of 50 saplings on the school campus. A. Jegadeesan from Illaya Bharatham proposed a vote of thanks.

SSM Institute of Engineering and Technology (SSMIET), Dindigul, hosted the valedictory ceremony of the SSM Higher Institute for Learning and Teaching (SSM-HILT) on June 13.
The welcome address was delivered by C. Sujatha, dean, School of Computing. The presidential address was delivered by the principal D. Senthil Kumaran, who highlighted the achievements of SSM-HILT.
Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AIDS) M. Premkumar honoured the chief guest Sarojini Balakrishnan from Avinashilingam Deemed University, Coimbatore.
K. Vinoth Kumar, Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML), proposed a vote of thanks.
