If you have the luxury of spending a week in a destination and that too staying at home during a holiday, that’s bliss. And true bliss were our mornings, mostly relaxed without the hurry during our stay in Eindhoven. Except our day trip days when we would be up early to get the best out of our day. Today though was planned to be one of complete relaxation for the five of us. Four of us the taller ones and our little one. For another longish walk of ours after the one to magical Genneper Parken couple of days back. As we set out for a day at Eindhoven with lots of fun waiting for us after a hearty breakfast.

As this Indian restaurant board on the way after a while symbolically announced. ‘Lekker India’ meaning Carrying India which we did, proudly with us.

Exploring Rapelenburg to Centrum

The Rapelenburg neighborhood of Eindhoven is known for its historical roots. And Hoogstraat meaning the high street is where we were staying which goes right up to the Centrum. It’s a cool, peaceful and safe residential area with nature all around. And all that you need is available nearby if you happen to be staying here. Nice homes, lovely parks, schools, playgrounds, top department stores, public transport buses and close proximity to the city center.

Our leisurely walk from our home to Binnenstad, the heart of the city center was just about 2 kms but we certainly walked much more going into adjoining streets that caught our attention. And we loved exploring the entire stretch with interesting stop overs that were mostly our little one’s favorites. They soon became our favorites as well by the end of the day.

We were staying at home but when you are here in Eindhoven you could check out hotels in this lovely neighborhood that we would be walking through today. Close to the city center but without the crowds when you wish to walk and explore.

Check them out on Travelwisesr Holidays our AI powered travel platform for flights, hotels, activities, airport transfers and intercity cabs in India. And a wonderful ‘Plan a Trip’ feature which you can use to plan and book your entire holiday package including activities you prefer, matching your overall budget.

St. Lambertus Church

St. Lambertus Church is a Catholic Church on Hoogstraat with a beautiful ambiance. Although we didn’t get to go inside the church, reviews suggest it’s beautiful inside as well and is known for its well managed visitor visits.

De Bibliotheek

De Bibliotheek located on Emmasingel 22 is the public library of Eindhoven which has a great collection of both English and Dutch books including novels and thrillers. This apart it also has e books and audio books for both children and adults. Our little one’s few hours every Saturday is normally spent here enjoying every bit of fun on the computer, picking up her loan books for the week followed by some tasty food and drinks at the cafe.

Exploring Binnenstad

Binnenstad is the heart of the city center where you would find the top retail chain stores, shopping market, food chains, roadside cafes, ice cream parlors and enough space to just hang around a while doing nothing. It is almost next to the Centraal station adding to its charm apart from the presence of the famous St. Catherine’s Church.
