The ‘Kaanta Laga girl’, Shefali Jariwala died at the age of 42 on Friday in Mumbai. As per reports, she was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital at midnight by her husband, Parag Tyagi, and three others after she suffered a cardiac arrest. She was later declared dead by the doctors. Several pictures and videos from her funeral went viral on social media.
Parag Tyagi performs Shefali Jariwala’s last rites
As per media reports, Shefali Jariwala’s last rites were performed by her husband Parag Tyagi, her father Satish Jariwala, and younger sister Shivani Jariwala. Her funeral was held at Oshiwara Hindu crematorium, Mumbai. Shefali was dressed in red for cremation and her husband Parag was seen kissing her forehead before her last rites.
Police officials say ‘No foul play’
“The autopsy has been done, but the opinion on the cause of death has been reserved. Based on preliminary information, it appears to be a natural death, and there was no foul play,” a police official told a media portal. Moroever, the Mumbai police have registered an accidental death report (ADR). Shefali was cremated at Oshiwara crematorium on Saturday evening. The 42-year-old actor passed away on Friday night at her home in Andheri and was declared dead upon her arrival at the hospital.
On the work front, Shefali stepped into showbiz at the age of 20 and won hearts with her charming persona in Kaanta Laga song. She was married to musician Harmeet Singh from Meet Brothers in 2004. But, unfortunately, their marriage hit a rocky path. They got divorced in 2009. Shefali fell in love with actor Parag Tyagi and they got married in 2015. Parag rose to fame with Pavitra Rishta and worked in shows like Brahmarakshas, Jodha Akbar, and Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki.
Shefali spilled magic with her charm in several music albums and appeared in films like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Hudugaru. She even participated in reality shows including Nach Baliye, Boogie Woogie and Bigg Boss 13.
