About This Recipe
I had a really busy day today. First, I had to go to the bank to take care of some pending tasks. Then, I stopped by at my friend’s place to work on something together. After that, we went to the market to buy vegetables. From there, I hurried to the tailor to pick up my stitched dresses. By the time I finally got home, I was completely exhausted and drained. The weather in Bangalore is really hot, so going out in the blazing sun made me even more dehydrated and tired.
I cooked kunduri dal and rice in the morning and had a quick lunch. After taking a nap, I was thinking on what to make for dinner. Since we usually have roti for dinner, deciding on a side dish is not difficult. I bought vegetables in the afternoon, so I have many cooking options. After organizing the veggies, I decided to make Sem phalli tamatar ki sabzi, which is my all-time favorite.
Making “sem phalli” can be a bit tiring because it involves trimming the sides and chopping it into pieces. However, when my little sister is with me, we share the work and it becomes much quicker. I made this sabzi to eat with rotis. Sem phalli with tamatar is a simple and delicious side dish that I love, especially when it’s in season. You can also have it with hot rice and dal or even with chaaru or rasam. It’s the best comfort meal ever.
