She sang his bhajans and swirled swiftly many times. After a while, she fell prostrate before His idol and placed her head at his lotus feet.
Hot tear drops found their way down her pretty face as she gently tugged at her Ektara and crooned, प्रभु जी तुम दर्शन बिन मोय घड़ी चैन नहीं आवड़े …

She opened her eyes and looked up at HIS idol… her Krishna… her Ram… her everything… she wiped his feet with her pallu even as the tears kept falling.
Her heart was beating loudly, threatening to burst with her love for her Krishna.
“Meera, Meera… eat something, Meera” her family members and residents of Mewar begged.
She didn’t respond, her tears kept falling on His feet and she kept wiping them while singing softly, अन्न नहीं भावे नींद न आवे विरह सतावे मोय। घायल ज्यूं घूमूं खड़ी रे म्हारो दर्द न जाने कोय।
Suddenly, the melodious sound of a payal (anklet) filled the air; someone was running towards Meera.
The area behind Shri Krishna’s idol started glowing with divine light. Loud cries of a young girl were heard.

“Shyam…Shyam…where are you? Where are you, my Kanhaiya?” Radha was calling out to Krishna.
Meera stood up and peeped behind the idol as Radha emerged from the divine light. There was worry writ all over her face.
She spotted Meera and desperately asked, “Have you seen my Shyam? He is very natkhat he was just here with me a while ago, and now, I just cannot find him….have you seen him?”
The beautiful, youthful Radha, with a molten complexion, wearing garlands of gems and flowers, stood helplessly before Meera.
Dressed in an ordinary white cotton sari, her body devoid of any accessories, Meera’s plain looks belied the divine glow on her sweet face.
She was curious. Many questions were bothering her.

“Just who was this banvari? Who is she seeking? Is she also searching for my Mohan?” Meera wondered.
“I don’t know about your Shyam, behen, but my Giridhar Gopal is here with me. Look!” replied Meera as she pointed to the idol of Lord Krishna.
Radha stepped forward and protested, “No! How can it be? He was with me a few minutes ago in Vrindavan. I closed my eyes in happiness and in a flash, he was gone! This idol is not my Kanha. My Kanha is alive! He speaks with me. We fight, make up and dance together for hours.”
“Yes, that’s what I am telling you! Your Mohan is not here.” Meera reiterated.
“The melody of his flute keeps my breath flowing, his love keeps my life glowing….have you seen him anywhere?” Radha asked desperately.
She started calling out, “Kanhaiya… where are you?”
Just then, flowers started falling from the temple ceiling and glowing clouds started circling above Meera and Radha. They looked up and watched in awe and wonder as a chariot descended from above.
Rukmini stepped down from the chariot as Radha and Meera gaped at her. They had never seen a beauty like her before.
She looked like an Empress. Her complexion was golden-yellow and her beautiful face resembled the moon. She was stunningly beautiful, her eyes glowed with royal pride. Her hair was swept up in braided tresses that tied into a knot adorned with flowers. She was holding a lotus in one hand and her entire body was adorned with rich clothes and various ornaments.

She smiled and spoke, “He you are looking for isn’t here, yet he is everywhere. He belongs to everyone, yet he belongs to no one. He is here, in Mewar and in Vrindavan and in Dwarka too.”
As the melodious sound of the flute cut through the tension in the air, Meera and Radha felt their hearts overflowing with peace and immense love.
They folded their hands and closed their eyes.
Their souls merged into Rukmini, and together, all three of them ascended into heaven.
Onlookers were awestruck and joined their hands in silent praise as Meera’s sweet voice rang through the air, पायो जी मैंने राम रतन धन पायो, वस्तु अमोलिक दी मेरे सतगुरु, कृपा कर अपनायो, पायो जी मैंने कृपा कर अपनायो, पायो जी मैंने राम रतन धन पायो….
