The first month of 2025 was action-packed as the Bharat Mobility Show witnessed several new car launches and unveiling. It seems that OEMs are not slowing down and ready to launch at least 10 new vehicles in coming months. So, let’s dive right in and take a closer look at key details of the upcoming new cars.
Upcoming New Cars
Kia Syros: 1st February

Prices of the Kia Syros will be announced on 1st February, 2025. This premium subcompact SUV will come in six trims – HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and HTX+ (O) – and eight colour options. Kia will offer the Syros with two engine options – 120bhp/172Nm, 1.0L turbo petrol and 116bhp/250Nm, 1.5L diesel. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual (standard), a 6-speed torque convertor automatic (diesel only) and a 7-speed DCT automatic (petrol only). The Kia Syros comes with a pack of advanced features such as the dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, all four ventilated seats, 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, 360 degree camera and more.
Maruti Vitara Electric: March 2025

Maruti Suzuki’s first electric SUV, based on the new skateboard Heartect-e platform, is ready to hit roads in March 2025. The EV will come with two battery packs – 49kWh and 61kWh – and single electric motor (as standard). The former delivers a maximum power of 143bhp, while the latter offers 173bhp. The range details of the Maruti Vitara Electric are yet to be revealed. However, the carmaker revealed that it will offer an MIDC-rated range of over 500km. The interior of the Maruti electric SUV is relatively modern than other Maurti Suzuki cars. It comes with a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a 10.1-inch instrument cluster, wireless smartphone connectivity, 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, Level 2 ADAS suite, and more.
Tata Harrier EV: March-April

The Tata Harrier EV, which recently debuted in its close-to-production version at this year’s Auto Expo, will go on sale in March or April. It’s one of the most-anticipated upcoming new cars in India. Based on the Acti.ev architecture, the electric SUV will take on the Mahindra XEV 9e. Official powertrain figures are yet to be revealed. However, the reports suggest that the Harrier EV will feature a 75kWh battery pack and dual electric motor with AWD system. In its higher spec version, it is expected to deliver a range of up to 600km.

BYD Sealion 7: March 2025

Bookings for the BYD Sealion 7 have already been commenced at an initial sum of Rs 70,000. Its market launch is slated to happen in March, 2025. This electric SUV comes in two variants – Premium RWD and Performance AWD – using an 82.5kWh LFP Blade battery. The Premium RWD variant delivers a MIDC-claimed range of 567km and power worth 313bhp with 380Nm, while the Performance AWD version promises an electric range of 542km and offers 530bh with 690Nm. Its overall length, width and height stand at 4,830mm, 1,925mm and 1,620mm, respectively.
MG Gloster & Majestor: Coming Months

JSW MG Motor India unveiled the new luxurious variant of the Gloster SUV at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. Called the MG Majestor, the model is likely to go on sale in coming. It’s based on the updated Gloster, which will also hit roads very soon. Compared to the regular Gloster, the new MG Majestor looks more rugged and masculine. The interior of the latter is yet to be revealed. No changes are likely to be made under the hood, as the Majestor will use the same 2.0L twin turbo diesel engine (216bhp/479Nm) that powers the Gloster SUV.
MG Cyberster: March 2025

MG Cyberster will be the brand’s first model to be retained via MG Select premium showrooms. It will also be the first most affordable electric sportscar in the country. The carmaker is likely to offer its top-end trim featuring a 77kWh battery pack and dual electric motor with AWD system. This setup generates a maximum power of 510bhp and 725Nm of torque. This electric sportscar is capable to do 0 to 100kmph in 3.2 seconds. Its CLTC claimed range stands at 580km. The Cyberster has two-doors, an open-top, and scissor doors.
Upcoming New Cars
MG M9: March 2025

Pre-bookings for the MG M9 luxury MPV have been commenced in India, with deliveries slated to begin in April, 2025. It will also be a MG Select exclusive product, which is expected to be priced around Rs 65 lakh. This premium electric MPV features a 90kWh lithium-ion battery pack with the front-axle mounted electric motor and FWD configuration. The combined power of this setup is 245bhp, and its WLTP-claimed range is 430km. The M9 comes with an 8-speed torque convertor automatic transmission. Similar to its global-spec version, it’s expected to come with the 7 and 8-seats layout options.
Kia EV6: By March 2025

Kia’s EV6 is all set to receive a mid-life update in India in coming months. Ahead of its market launch, the carmaker has showcased the model at the recently-concluded Bharat Mobility Show. With this update, the electric SUV will get a bigger 84kWh battery pack with the RWD and AWD drivetrain systems. The RWD version offers a claimed range of 494km and power worth 229bhp, while the AWD model delivers 461km and 325bhp. Significant changes have also been made to its exterior and interior. The new Kia EV6 comes with an updated curved panoramic display, a new steering wheel with a fingerprint scanner, updated HUD, AI-based navigation and a digital rear view mirror.
New Skoda Superb: Coming Months

The fourth-generation Skoda Superb made its India debut at the 2025 Auto Expo. This time, the executive sedan was showcased with a 2.0L diesel engine and 4X4 drivetrain system. The oil burner pushes out a maximum power of 193bhp and 400Nm of torque. With the FWD configuration, the same diesel engine delivers 148bhp. The sedan’s new model adopts Skoda’s Modern Solid design language featuring angular creases and the familiar Skoda design elements. Its interior looks refreshing with the ‘smart dial’ controls on the dashboard, a new 13-inch infotainment system and several other upgrades.
