Maruti Suzuki is finally set to enter the EV segment with the all-new e Vitara in the coming months. This electric SUV made its public debut at this year’s Bharat Mobility Show in January. When will the Maruti e-Vitara be launched?

The official launch date of the electric Vitara is yet to be revealed; however, it’s expected to hit showrooms in the first quarter of 2025.

Which electric SUVs will compete with the Maruti e-Vitara?

When launched, the e Vitara will face challenge from electric SUVs like Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6 and MG ZS EV.

What is the expected price of the Maruti e-Vitara?

The electric Vitara is likely to be priced aggressively against its rivals. Its entry-level variant with the 49kWh battery pack is estimated to be priced around Rs 20 lakh, while the higher trim with the bigger battery and dual motor setup is likely to cost up to Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).

The carmaker has confirmed that the electric Vitara will come in ten colour options, including six monotone and four dual-tone.

What battery options are available for the Maruti e-Vitara?

The new Maruti electric SUV, built on the skateboard Heartect-e platform, comes with 49kWh and 61kWh battery packs. These use BYD-sourced LFP (Lithium Iron-phosphate) blade cells and are paired with the front-axle mounted electric motors. The smaller battery delivers a claimed power of 143bhp, while the bigger battery pack offers 173bhp. The torque output for both variants remains the same at 192.5Nm.

What is the expected range of the Maruti e-Vitara?

Maruti Suzuki hasn’t yet revealed the exact range of the electric Vitara, but has confirmed that the larger battery pack it will offer an MIDC-rated range of over 500km.
