10 Upcoming Tata Cars In India


Aiming to drive growth, Tata Motors is betting big on the “3Es” – Expansion, EV Ecosystem and EV Channel strategy. In the coming 2-3 years, the home-grown automaker will introduce a slew of new products including ICE-powered SUVs, EVs and updated/new-gen versions of its existing models. Let’s dive into key details of the top 10 upcoming Tata cars in India.

Tata Harrier EV

The Tata Harrier EV is set to hit roads in the coming months (possibly in May or June, 2025). Based on the Acti.ev platform, the electric SUV is likely to come with multiple battery options, and the dual electric motor configuration could be reserved for the higher trims. However, Tata has confirmed that the Harrier EV offers a maximum torque of 500nm. The SUV will support AWD along with the V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2C (vehicle-to-charge) functionalities.

Tata Harrier Petrol

The recent sighting of the Tata Harrier petrol hints at its imminent launch. However, its official launch date has yet to be announced. The SUV is expected to be offered with a new 1.5L TGDi petrol engine, pushing out a maximum power of 170PS and 280Nm of torque. It will be available with both manual and automatic gearboxes.

Tata Altroz Facelift

Tata’s Altroz premium hatchback is all set to receive a midlife update in the next couple of months. Spy images reveal that the model will come with subtly updated front fascia. It might get new upholstery and door trims inside the cabin along with a bunch of new features such as ventilated front seats. No mechanical changes will be made to the 2025 Tata Altroz facelift. It will continue to use the 86bhp, 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 90hbp, 1.5L turbo diesel engine options.

Tata Sierra

The Tata Sierra is one of the much-awaited upcoming Tata cars in India. The SUV will come with three engine options in the second half of 2025. The petrol and diesel versions are likely to feature a 1.5L turbo and 2.0L motors, respectively. Additionally, there will be an electric iteration with multiple battery pack options, delivering a range of approx. 500km. Tata might equip the SUV with 4X4 drivetrain system.

Tata Punch Facelift

The Tata Punch micro SUV is expected to receive an update by June 2025. The updated version is likely to feature a revised bumper, split LED headlamps and new LED DRLs at the front end. The side and rear profile might remain largely unchanged, expect for the new alloy wheels and new taillamps. Inside, the 2025 Tata Punch facelift is likely to get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The mini SUV will continue to come with the 1.2L engine and 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options.

Tata Safari EV

The launch timeline of the Tata Safari EV has yet to be confirmed by the carmaker. However, it’s likely to arrive in FY2025. Similar to the Punch EV and Harrier EV, it will under Tata’s Acti.ev platform and feature EV-specific elements inside and out. As of now, the powertrain details are not available. However, it’s expected to share powertrain setup with the Harrier EV.

Tata Avinya X

Next on the list of upcoming Tata cars in India is the brand’s most luxurious offering – the Avinya. It’s a 5-door Sportback, which was showcased in its concept form at this year’s Bharat Mobility Show. Being a luxury SUV, the Tata Avinya will be equipped with several advanced features including an ADAS suite, a 360 degree camera, V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) and V2L (vehicle-to-load) charging capabilities, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, a lounge-like 4-seater layout and more.

New-Gen Tata Nexon/Tiago/Tigor

Tata will give a generation change to its three popular models – Nexon, Tiago and Tigor. Official launch timelines of these upcoming Tata cars are yet be revealed; however, the next-generation models are expected to hit showrooms in 2027. All three cars will switch to a heavily modified version of their existing X1 platform, and receive significant design changes and feature upgrades.
