Hyundai 7-Seater Hybrid SUV
Hyundai Motor India is also planning a new 7-seater SUV, which will bridge the gap between the Alcazar and Tucson in the company’s product lineup. Interestingly, it will be a petrol-hybrid offering and one of the first Hyundai model to be produced at the carmaker’s Talegaon manufacturing facility. Codenamed Ni1i, the new Hyundai 7-seater SUV is expected to enter production by 2027. Hyundai might use its 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine to introduce strong hybrid tech in India.
Tata Safari EV
Tata Motors has a slew of electric vehicles (EVs) for India, set to hit roads in the coming years. In the 7-seater segment, the carmaker will introduce the electric iteration of the Safari SUV. The model is likely to arrive in 2025 or 2026 as no official launch date has been announced yet. Similar to the Punch EV, the Tata Safari EV will be based on the new Acti.ev platform and carry some EV-specific design details inside and out. This electric SUV is expected to deliver a range of around 500km on a single charge.
Mahindra XEV 7e
Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to launch the electric XUV700 (XEV 7e) by the end of 2025. This EV will share some of its design bits and features from the XEV 9e. This means, it could be offered with the 59kWh and 70kWh battery pack options, delivering a claimed range of 542km and 656km, respectively. On the feature front, it could get the Level 2 ADAS tech, a panoramic sunroof, VisionX HUD, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and more.
Toyota Hyryder 7-Seater SUV
Similar to Maruti Suzuki, Toyota Motor Kirloskar will introduce the 7-seater version of the Hyryder SUV in 2025. Compared to its 5-seater sibling, the Toyota Hyryder 7-seater will have more cabin space to offer with longer body construction. The 1.5L, 3-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol and 1.5L K15C petrol mild hybrid powertrains will be carried forward from its 5-seater counterpart. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed torque convertor automatic and an e-CVT (strong hybrid).
Kia 7-Seater SUV
The Kia MQ4i (codenamed) will be the first strong hybrid 7-seater SUV from the South Korean automaker in India. It will be based on the Sorento, which is globally available with a 1.6L, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. This motor, paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, pushes out a peak power of 227bhp and 350Nm of torque. While there are no official details on the product, the new Kia 7-seater SUV is likely to borrow some design elements and features from the Sorento.
