The Indian electric vehicle (EV) market is growing at a fast pace, driven by the rising fuel prices, improved charging infrastructure and a global push towards greener mobility solutions. Considering the increasing market demand, major OEMs are ready to expand their EV lineups. Here’s a brief overview of the top seven upcoming electric cars set to hit Indian roads in the coming months.

Maruti e Vitara
The Maruti e Vitara is likely to arrive in the next couple of months. Select Nexa dealers have already started accepting bookings for the EV. This electric SUV will come with the 49kWh and 61kWh battery pack options, paired with front-axle mounted electric motors. The smaller battery delivers power worth 143bhp, while the larger battery pack is good for 173bhp. The Maruti e Vitara is claimed to offer an MIDC range of over 500km.
MG Cybester EV
The MG Cybester EV will come as India’s most affordable sportscar, with an estimated price range of Rs 60 lakh – Rs 70 lakh. Bookings for the EV are already underway nationwide. The powertrain setup of the Cybester will consist of a 77kWh battery pack and a front-axle mounted electric motor, offering a claimed range of 580km. The power and torque outputs stand at 510bhp and 725Nm, respectively. The new MG electric sportscar offers a top speed of around 200kmph.
MG Windsor EV Long-Range
The long-range version of the MG Windsor EV is set to hit showrooms in the coming weeks. It’s likely to use a 50kWh lithium-ion battery pack with an electric motor. It’s estimated to offer range of around 460km. The battery pack will take nearly 46 minutes to charge from 0 to 80 percent by using a 50kW DC fast charger and 16 hours with an AC charger. The Windsor LR will accelerate 0 to 100kmph in 8.6 seconds and have an electronic speed limit of 175kmph.
MG M9
The MG M9 is a luxury electric MPV, featuring a 90kWh battery pack and an electric motor. This configuration delivers a claimed power of 241bhp and 350Nm of torque. The M9 promises a range of 430km on a single charge. It takes around 9 hours to charge from 10 to 80 percent by using a 11kW AC charger. It also supports up to 120kW DC fast charging, enabling a full top-up in just 36 minutes. The MG M9 is capable to do 0 to 100kmph in 9.2 seconds and attain a top speed of 180kmph.
Tata Harrier EV
The Tata Harrier EV is one of the much-awaited upcoming electric cars in India. It’s likely to go on sale by June 2025. Based on the Acti.ev platform, this electric SUV is expected to be offered with multiple battery pack options. The higher trims will feature larger battery with the dual electric motor setup, and offer a range of over 500km. The carmaker has already revealed that the Harrier EV will return a maximum torque of 500Nm. It will support both V2C (vehicle-to-charge) and V2L (vehicle-to-load) functionalities.
Kia Carens EV
The electric iteration of the Kia Carens is expected to hit roads in June 2025. While its official powertrain details are yet to be revealed, this electric compact MPV is likely to feature a 42kWh battery and a 135bhp electric motor – the same configuration as the Hyundai Creta electric. With the smaller battery pack, the electric SUV offers a claimed ARAI range of 390km. The Kia Carens EV, with some EV-specific elements, will look different from its ICE version.
Mahindra XUV3XO EV
Next in the list of the upcoming electric cars in India is the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV. Although the carmaker hasn’t yet announced its launch timeline and details, it’s expected to arrive in the coming months. This compact electric SUV is likely to use a 35kWh battery pack, which will be the smaller version of the 40kWh battery of the XUV400 EV. Spy images suggest that the XUV 3XO EV will feature a slightly different grille, new alloys and a larger central air intake.
