Tata Motors sold 1.47 lakh passenger vehicles, while commercial vehicle sales stood at around 1.05 lakh units
Tata Motors has announced its sales report in the domestic and international market for Q5 FY 2024-25. According to the official figures revealed by the company, the overall sales bar stood at 2,52,642 units, accounting for both PV and CV segments. The Indian carmaker reported sales of 2,65,090 units in the fourth quarter of FY 2023-2024, reflecting a marginal decline in the performance.
Talking about the brand’s domestic sales performance in the month of March 2025, a total of 90,500 units were sold, as compared to the 90,882 units in March 2024. A 5% YOY de-growth can be seen in the domestic Q4 results with 2,45,891 units sold in FY 2025 as compared to 2,59,932 units in FY 2024.
As for the commercial vehicle segment is concerned, Tata Motors reported total sales of 41,122 units in March 2025 as compared to 42,262 units in March 2024, with a 3% YOY de-growth. Similarly, a 3% decline in sales was also observed in Q4 FY 2025 with the sales bar standing at 1,05,643 units. Comparing the domestic sales numbers of the CV segment, a 4% and 5% de-growth can be seen in monthly and quarterly charts.

The Indian carmaker sold 51,616 units in March 2025 in the passenger vehicle segment. This accounts for a 3% YOY growth as the company’s sales numbers stood at 50,110 units in March 2024 for the domestic market. On the other hand, the Q4 results reflect a 6% de-growth with 1,46,127 units sold in Q4 FY 2025.

These numbers also include the electric vehicles sold in the PV segment. Coming to EVs, total sales of 5,353 units were reported in March 2025 with a 21% YOY decline. A similar trend was observed in the Q4 numbers with a 23% decline.

Commenting on the Q4 FY 2025 results, Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said, “Passenger vehicle sales is expected to reach 4.3 million units in FY25, reflecting a modest 2% growth. SUVs continued to dominate the market with double digit growth and accounted for ~55% of new car sales. Preference for emission-friendly CNG vehicles surged by ~35%, and EVs showed renewed promise, with more industry participants enhancing customer choices and strengthening the ecosystem.”
