The 6th-generation Audi A6 (C9) lineup is now joined by the plug-in hybrid models, with prices starting at €65,800 in Germany. One of the key highlights of these models is the capability of offering a pure electric range of over 100 km, making them a perfect choice for those who want the best of both worlds. You can do your daily office trips and weekend dinner dates with electric power alone.

The design team has done a fantastic job with this new generation A6. I think this is the best-looking E-segment car on the market; the proportions and the styling elements are perfectly married. No matter from which angle you look, the new A6 looks stunning. Audi claims a drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd, billed as the best drag coefficient of an Audi with a combustion engine. However, those fancy lights you see are optional extras.

The DRLs are made up of 48 individual LED segments per headlight. The OLED taillights are also optional extras; each side features 198 OLED segments that create the digital signatures. Wheel sizes range between 18- and 21-inches, depending on the trim and/or options. A first for an A6 is an integrated, blending-capable brake control system (iBRS). With this brake-by-wire technology, the brake pedal and brake hydraulics are completely decoupled.
As for suspension, the standard suspension is claimed to be even more comfortable than its predecessor. The optional sports suspension (standard with the S line exterior package) lowers the body by 20 mm. Another option is the adaptive air suspension with electronically controlled damping, which gives the vehicle a wide range of options between a smooth, comfortable ride and sporty handling. If opted for the second one, the A6 Sedan is 20 mm lower in normal mode (balanced, comfort, and efficiency mode), the same as with the sports suspension. In dynamic mode, the ride height is lowered by another 10 mm for a sporty driving feel.
The hybrid powertrain is a combination of a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine and an electric motor integrated into the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The battery pack is of 25.9 kWh capacity (net 20.7 kWh), a significantly larger pack than before (14.1 and 17.9 kWh). But anyway, there are two output options available: 270 kW (367 metric hp) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft), and 220 kW (299 metric hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft).
The official 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time is 5.3 seconds and 6.0 seconds, respectively. The top speed, however, is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). The pure electric range for the Sedan is claimed to be 106 km (66 mi), while the Avant is claimed to offer 104 km (64.6 mi).
The new generation A6 may have grown in size, but the standard all-wheel steering should make it far less cumbersome to maneuver. Inside, the Android Automotive OS-based infotainment system is integrated with ChatGPT. If the Audi assistant is unable to answer a question, it reaches out to ChatGPT. The passenger display is an optional 10.9-inch unit. The Audi MMI panoramic display includes a 11.9-inch virtual cockpit and a 14.5-inch touch display.
