In addition, the brand will also be introducing the facelifted versions of its several existing ICE-powered models with refreshed styling, new features and modern hardware. In this piece, we will talk in detail about the 5 upcoming Mahindra SUVs in India in the next 12-18 months.

Being internally codenamed as W616, it will borrow styling cues from the brand’s recently launched born-electric SUVs namely BE 6 and XEV 9e. Apart from a complete cosmetic overhaul, the Mahindra XUV 7OO facelift will also boast of a futuristic cabin with a long list of advanced features. Mechanically, the brand’s flagship SUV will remain unchanged with the same 2.0L turbocharged petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engines at the helm. The transmission options will include 6-speed and automatic units.

The ongoing model of Thar has been on sale for the last five years and hence, the company is working on a facelifted version which could be launched by early 2026. The design will be hugely inspired by the Thar Roxx – the 5-door version of the SUV – with elements such as C-shaped LED headlamps, revamped bumpers and newly-designed alloy wheels. The cabin will also get substantial updates in the form of a new steering wheel, bigger infotainment system and sunroof. Under the hood, it will be packed with the same set of petrol and diesel engines.

3. Mahindra XUV 3XO Hybrid

Mahindra is also ready to enter the hybrid SUV space as sources tell us that work has already begun on strong hybrid as well as range extender powertrain setup. The XUV 3XO will be the first company model to launch with a strong hybrid system in 2026. Codenamed as S226, it will carry the same 1.2L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with the brand’s newly-developed hybrid setup. Several other leading automakers such as Maruti Suzuki and Toyota have already explored the hybrid segment quite aggressively with multiple models introduced with the hybrid system.

Being unveiled as Global Pik-up concept on Aug 15, 2023, it has been spotted testing on the Indian roads on multiple occasions. The Scorpio N Pickup will debut in production-ready form by mid of 2026. A few reports claim that it will go on sale in South Africa and Australia before it is launched in India. As the name suggests, it will have the face of Scorpio N, albeit with a pick-up body type. Mahindra could only offer a diesel engine at the time of launch and a petrol mill could be offered at a later stage.

5. New-Gen Mahindra Bolero

The next-gen Bolero, scheduled to launch in the later half of 2026, will be based on an all-new platform which is likely to be called the New Flexible Architecture (NFA). This new architecture will also spawn an all-electric version of the Bolero. The new-gen model of the SUV will be available in 5-seater and 7-seater configurations. The company could offer the 7-seater version with a forward-facing last row for better safety of the occupants while also keeping the overall length below 4 metres.
