Kia Carens Clavis boasts more premium features compared to the regular Clavis and is available with six- and seven-seater layouts
Kia has officially launched the Carens Clavis in the domestic market. Priced from Rs. 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom), this MPV is offered in both six- and seven-seat layouts. Compared to the standard Carens, it gets a number of updates inside and out. The second-row features a segment-first walk-in lever and electric one-touch tumble for easy access to the third row.
The Korean auto major has also introduced Level 2 ADAS suite comprising 20 semi-autonomous features, reinforced by a comprehensive list of 18 passive safety features which include six airbags, ESC, and rear occupant alerts. Taking cues from Kia’s Opposites United design language, the Kia Clavis features a host of new styling elements.
It comes with new LED headlamps, connected LED tail lamps and a new Ivory Silver glossy finish. The Kia Carens Clavis rides on newly designed dual-tone 17-inch alloys and sports satin chrome accents. On the inside, the cabin comprises a 67.62 cm dual-display layout – one for the infotainment and the other for instrumentation.

Buyers will also get ventilated front seats, power-adjustable driver seat, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof along with Bose-sourced 8-speaker audio system, ambient lighting in 64 colours and a smart air purifier integrated into the seatbacks, keeping cabin air clean and evenly distributed through roof-mounted vents.

As for performance, there are three engine options to choose from – two petrol ( a 1.5L NA petrol and 1.5L turbo) and one diesel (1.5L CRDi unit). The transmission options made available are a 6-speed MT, a six-speed iMT, a 7-speed DCT and 6-speed AT, depending on the variant. The entry-level HTE petrol with a manual gearbox starts at Rs. 11.49 lakh while the top-spec HTX+ 7DCT variant climbs to Rs. 21.49 lakh.
