Kia Carens Clavis Unveiled; Bookings & Feature Details


The new Kia Carens Clavis has finally been unveiled for the Indian market. It’s an updated, more premium version of the Carens, and both models will be sold alongside each other. The model lineup will come in 7 trims – HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK Plus, HTK Plus (O), HTX and HTX Plus – which are expected to be priced from Rs 11 lakh onwards. The 7-seats configuration will be standard across the lineup, while 6-seater layout will be reserved for the range-topping HTX Plus trim.

Kia Carens Clavis Booking Details:

Bookings for the Carens Clavis will start on 9th May, 2025. Interested buyers can pre-book the vehicle by paying a sum of Rs 25,000 at Kia dealerships or on Kia’s website.

While the seating arrangement is similar to the pre-facelift Carens, the Kia Clavis has a newly-designed dashboard and a new two-spoke steering wheel, inspired by the Syros. Taking centre stage is the 22.62-inch dual screen setup – one working as the infotainment system and the other as the digital instrument cluster. The Carens (pre-facelift version) comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.5-inch LCD instrument cluster.

The Carens Clavis also gets a panoramic sunroof along with features such as ventilated front seats, 4-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, dashcam with dual view, sliding and reclining second row seats, and more.

Visually, the new Carens Clavis appears more modern than the Carens. Upfront, it features a blacked-off grille, revised bumper with blacked-out portion with a silver faux skid plate, sharper 3-pod LED headlamps in a triangular housing and LED DRLs. Compared to the Carens, the Clavis has larger 17-inch alloy wheels in dual-tone shade, featuring a new star-like pattern.

The black cladding on the wheel arches along with sliver door handles and roof rails, further enhances its side profile. At the rear, the Kia Clavis sport an updated bumper, a silver faux skid plate and redesigned LED taillamps connected via an illuminated light bar.

Mechanically, the Kia Clavis will be similar to the Carens. This means, the premium MPV comes with the three engine options – 115bhp/144Nm, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 160bhp/253Nm, 1.5L turbo petrol and 116bhp/250Nm, 1.5L diesel. All three engines are available with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The turbo-petrol variants are also come with the optional 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT automatic transmissions. A 6-speed automatic is offered with the diesel engine only.
