Tata Harrier EV Launched at Rs 21.49 Lakh


The much-awaited Tata Harrier EV is finally here! The home-grown automaker has launched the electric SUV at a starting price of Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). At this price point, it directly takes on the Mahindra XEV 9e and BYD Atto 3, which are currently available in the price range of Rs 21.90 lakh – Rs 30.50 lakh and Rs 24.99 lakh – Rs 33.99 lakh, respectively. The Harrier EV is the sixth electric car from Tata. Bookings for the Harrier EV will begin from 2nd July, 2025.

The Harrier EV is being offered with two battery pack options – a 65kWh and a 75kWh. The smaller 65kWh battery comes with a rear axle mounted single electric motor, and delivers a claimed power of 238bhp to the rear wheels. The higher trims are available with a 75kWh, paired with the dual motors fitted on each axle and QWD system. This configuration promises a combined power of 396bhp and a 504Nm of torque.

Tata claims that the 75kWh variants of the Harrier EV offer a MIDC claimed range of up to 627km on a full charge. The real world range of the EV is nearly 500km. The SUV comes with both QWD (Quad Wheel Drive) and RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) drivetrain options. It’s claimed to do 0 to 100kmph in 6.3 seconds.

This new Tata electric SUV can be charged by using both a regular 7.2kW AC charger and a 120kW fast charger. While the regular 7.2kWh AC charger takes 10.7 hours to fully charge the battery, the fast charger juice up the battery from 20 to 80 percent in just 25 minutes. A 3.3kW charging option is also available. Tata also claims that its battery can provide 250 km of range with 15 minutes of charging.

Colour Options:

The electric Harrier is available in four colour options – Nainital Nocturne, Pure Grey, Empowered Oxide and Pristine White. It’s also available in a Stealth Black version finished in matte black.

The interior layout of the Harrier EV is identical to its ICE-version. However, it features a 14.5-inch central touchscreen infotainment system from Harman with a Samsung QLED display and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity along with a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. Tata Harrier EV Design Highlights

Based on the Gen 2 Acti.ev platform, the Harrier EV looks largely similar to its ICE counterpart. However, a few cosmetic tweaks set it apart – such as revised front grille, redesigned front and rear bumpers, new 19-inch aero-optimzied alloy wheels in a dual-tone finish and ‘.EV’ badging on the front and rear doors and tailgate. Dimensionally, the electric Harrier is s2mm longer, 210mm wider and 22mm taller than its ICE-powered version. However, the wheelbase remains the same – 2,741mm. The EV offers a boot space of 502-litres.
