Beauty trends come and go, the classics are evergreen. BUT beauty trends are fun, and isn’t that the whole point of a beauty regimen? In a world full of stress and despair, your beauty ritual is what offers a few minutes of self-love and solace, which is why, I am personally a fan of beauty trends that I can incorporate into my everyday routine. After closely studying the beauty magazines and social media pages, here are my predictions for the top 5 beauty trends of 2024!
1. Holographic Eyeliners
The past few years have seen the rise of holographic eyeshadows and highlighters. But let’s be real, most of us can’t go about our day looking like a gorgeous unicorn (pretty but pretty impractical). Now, holographic eyeliners are the perfect compromise for those who want their makeup to stand out without being too over the top for regular wear. You can choose a subtle color like silver or burgundy or go all out with hot pink or green eyeliners with a holographic shift, all without being visible from the other end of the room! And, with brands like Swiss Beauty bringing out affordable holographic liners, you don’t need to break the bank to try one of the top beauty trends of 2024! 2. Skin Tints
Skin tints are not a new concept, but I feel that with every passing day, they are gaining popularity, especially among Gen Z beauty trends. The idea is to let skin look like skin while offering a thin veil of coverage to add glow and even out the skin tone. Now, those among you who are blessed with clear skin or are completely confident showing their marks or blemishes can pick up any popular skin tint to rock this trend. However, those of my readers who prefer some coverage for their pigmentation (like me) can go for a higher coverage skin tint like the Maybelline Fit Me Fresh Tint, or even a BB cream with good coverage, like the Missha BB Cream. So, say bye-bye to heavy, cakey foundations and embrace skin tints in 2024!
3. Blush Overload

No matter what your blush placement of choice may be, you cannot miss out on adding some flush to your cheeks in 2024. With every passing year, the theme of self-acceptance is becoming more prominent in beauty trends. One such self-acceptance is that we are all not born equal in the hair department, but that shouldn’t stop us from flaunting voluminous, long locks! Hair extensions, hair toppers, and even fake bangs are giving women (and men), the confidence to look their very best with the hairstyle of their choice. Moreover, with hair extension brands like Nish Hair ruling the Indian market, we now have options that look very real instead of the weird fake joodas of the yester years!
5. Peel Off Masks
I am quite certain that the viral Pat Mc Grath makeup trend brought back the spotlight on the viral peel-off masks from a decade ago! Peel-off masks flew off the shelves when the makeup artist revealed that the secret to her glistening “glass skin” face makeup was a concoction of peel-off masks, skin gloss, and water. Needless to say, this trick works and how! But, besides inspiring makeup lovers, it brought Peel Off Masks back from their exile for skincare lovers as well (call this the power of product placement, though perhaps unintended in this case). Even yours truly bought one of the masks she named, aka the Freeman’s Cucumber Peel-Off Gel Mask which is pretty much the same as the good old Everyuth Orange Peel Off Mask, though perhaps a smidge more soothing. Now, I suddenly hear a lot of skincare chatter about how gentle peel-off masks are great for removing oil heads or sebaceous filaments. Perhaps people are tired of using AHAs and BHAs? Perhaps all trends are truly cyclic? Perhaps this was a cleverly crafted marketing campaign? Who knows! But I now have a fun skincare product to play with on a hot summer day while sipping on a mojito!
