Mere Husband Ki Biwi Review:
After directing multiple romantic comedies, Mudassar Aziz brings another fresh film to elevate this genre with Mere Husband Ki Biwi. The title is enough to grab your attention, and you can already sense a funny chaos unfolding.
This formula was quite amusing back in the 90s with films like Saajan Chale Sasural (1996) and Gharwali Baharwali (1998). Aziz’s new rom-com isn’t formulaic like these movies but presents a unique concept of a medical term creating an organic crisis of love in the past, present, and future.
Dharmatic's much-awaited romantic drama, Nadaaniyan, with Ibrahim Ali Khan & Khushi Kapoor, will release on March 7 on Netflix
Some filmy tadka ingredients, such as Mohabbatein, DDPD, Shah Rukh Khan’s signature pose, and the airport scene make it a proper Bollywood-style bonanza.
Mere Husband Ki Biwi Story:
Set in Delhi, the film follows the story of a married couple, Ankur Chaddha (Arjun Kapoor) and Prableen Dhillon (Bhumi Pednekar), who have been married for three years, but their relationship unravels after a tragedy. There is a third angle: Ankur’s new girlfriend, Antara Khanna (Rakul Preet), but a known medical condition called “retrograde amnesia” complicates the marriage plans of the new couple.

The unique selling point here is that the “husband” is caught between two “biwis”—one from the past, who has lost her memory, and the second is his future wife, who wants to win him from the first one—creating a hilarious chaos of love in both the past and present. Who will triumph in the end?
Mere Husband Ki Biwi features a solid script that successfully merges a fresh idea with our desi rom-com elements. The film is packed with hilarious sequences that are sure to make people laugh, especially couples and family audiences. Many one-liners resonate perfectly because the situations make them relatable. It’s a highly situational comedy that should be viewed with family on the big screen to be fully enjoyed. Danger Lanka, Jacqueline-Prableen, the hospital scene, Arjun’s confused state, Rakul’s jealousy, and Bhumi’s cat-fight—all contribute to wholesome entertainment.
Mere Husband Ki Biwi Cast:
Arjun Kapoor is a guy confused between two ladies, trying to find the true meaning of love, which he portrays very well. Rakul Preet looks stunning with that hairdo and her modern-girl attitude. She conveys the conviction led by the frustration she experiences as a girlfriend, but after all, she is a girl/woman, right? That intermediate point makes her character substantial and meaningful.
Bhumi Pednekar showcases two different shades, both entirely opposite to each other, and she seems to have had a lot of fun. That joy and excitement are visible on her face and through her voice. No wonder she walks away with the best scenes in the film. Harsh Gujral shines in his role, whereas Tiku Talsania does what is required with his experience. The rest of the supporting cast has small roles but are quite important at moments.
The film features proper Desi music with songs like Gori Hai Kalaiyaan, Saawariya, and Ikk Vaari, adding a Desi tadka while “Rabba” brings an emotional touch. The film ends up making a good point about relationships that many couples and families will take home.

Mere Husband Ki Biwi Movie Review:
The technical aspects, such as cinematography, editing, sound design, costumes, and background score, are well-executed. Mudassar Aziz delivers a fresh rom-com, exactly what we need in today’s era of action-event movies. It’s like a breath of fresh air. A few drawbacks, such as an overlong narrative and lengthy drama, can be forgiven as long as the film doesn’t bore you.
Mere Husband Ki Biwi is engaging, fast-paced, and a healthy comedy that tackles a new topic smartly with traditional humour. Mudassar Aziz and Bhagnani’s Puja Films have created a perfect family entertainer, and now it’s your turn to head to nearby cinemas and enjoy it. Go, watch it.
