Farah Khan is a popular choreographer and filmmaker in Bollywood. She rose to prominence after choreographing the dance steps on popular Bollywood songs like Dhol Bajne Laga, Chaiyya Chaiyya, Ek Pal Ka Jeena, and Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan, among others. At the same time, her unique personality, as seen on reality TV shows, captured the audience’s attention. On the personal front, Farah is married to filmmaker, Shirish Kunder, and the couple are parents to triplets, Czar, Diva, and Anya Kunder. Although, the choreographer prefers to keep her personal life away from the media, she recently opened up about her parenting style.

Farah Khan admits she is a strict mom to her 17-year-old triplets

Farah Khan started her YouTube channel in 2024; since then, fans have seen a close glimpse into her personal life. In her latest vlog, Farah Khan interacted with Bigg Boss season 14 winner, Rubina Dilaik, who welcomed twins, Edhaa and Jiva in 2023. Farah, the mother of three 17-year-old kids, revealed that her kids will attend college in 2026. But, despite crossing their teens, they choose to spend time with their parents rather than enjoying themselves with their friends or going to parties. In her words: 

“Luckily, my kids are 17 going on 13. They’re not overgrown and are still studious. It was their birthday recently, and they wanted a family dinner with us. They didn’t want to go to a club and party.”

The Om Shanti Om filmmaker revealed that her kids are on the cusp of adulthood. But they have never been to a club, and neither have her daughters worn makeup until now. Farah admitted that she is a strict mom and prefers to keep a tab on her daughters. However, she is also willing to know more about their lives and have fun with them. She explained: 

“My daughters have never been to a club. Until now, they haven’t used makeup or threaded their eyebrows. I am a strict mom because they can’t just go wherever they want without me tracking. Every evening, we have a gossip chat, which is how I learn what’s happening in their lives. I’m a cool, fun mom, too.”

When Farah Khan shared her parenting approach with Rubina, she was impressed with it. The Shakti actress, who has chosen to raise her daughters in her native town amid the hills of Himachal Pradesh, praised the filmmaker for protecting her kids from additional exposure in the modern world. She then asked Farah if she raised her son and daughters differently. In response, the Chaiyya Chaiyya choreographer admitted that she is more strict with her son because he needs to know how to respect women. Also, he has been advised not to indulge when his friends’ talk in a certain way.’

Farah Khan learned to dance on her own and established her dance group. She began working in films when Saroj Khan walked out of the film, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, and she worked on it. Later, she choreographed songs for films like Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, and Dil Se etc. She has also acted in a few films and directed films like Main Hoon Naa and Om Shanti Om, to name a few more. Farah married film editor and director, Sirish Kunder in 2004. In 2008, Farah gave birth to triplets through IVF.
