Manoj Bharathiraja Passes Away: Kamal Haasan, Thalapathy Vijay and More Pay Tributes


Tamil actor Manoj Bharathiraja, son of ace filmmaker Bharathiraja, passed away on Tuesday at 48. He reportedly had a heart attack at his residence in Chetpet, Chennai. The actor reportedly underwent bypass surgery and was recovering at home when he suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest. His death has left his family, close friends and the film industry in mourning. Bharathiraja rushed to his son’s home from Neelankarai.

Tributes are pouring in for Manoj Bharathiraja. Kamal Haasan shared his condolences. The star was shocked by Manoj’s sudden passing. He took to his X handle and wrote in Tamil, “I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear the news of the passing of Manoj Bharathiraja, son of actor, my friend and dearest director Bharathiraja. I express my deepest condolences to Bharathiraja, his family and friends, who are grieving the loss of him.”

Thalapathy Vijay visited Manoj Bharathiraja’s family at his home. The actor arrived with heavy security to meet the family and give them his condolences.

Suriya also visited Manoj’s home to pay his respects. He also shared his condolences with director Bharathiraja. The latter broke down. Videos of their visit are doing the rounds on social media.

Director Venkat Prabhu, through his X handle, wrote, “Really shocking to hear the news.. can’t believe u r no more my brother #manoj gone toooo soon… deepest condolences to @offBharathiraja uncle family and friends… may ur soul RIP.”
