Sikandar Review
Salman Khan’s Sikandar is an action-packed entertainer that promises to keep you on the edge of your seat. The action thriller is directed by the popular Tamil filmmaker AR Murugadoss. The story begins with Sanjay Rajkot (played by Salman Khan), a king who is loved by all his people and he fights for the rights of the citizens and disrupts established power structures in a country marked by the unfairness of Minister Pradhan (played by Sathyaraj).
Post his wife’s (played by Rashmika Mandanna) death the tale takes an emotional turn as she donates her organs- lungs, heart and eyes. He challenges a widespread corrupt system and his journey to save three lives begins. The interesting chase between ‘Sikandar’ and ‘Minister Pradhan’ is worth watching.
What Works
Sikandar brings an exciting blend of drama, action, and music, bolstered by an ensemble cast and engaging songs that will linger in your mind long after the credits roll.
The film features standout tracks like Zohra Jabeen, Bam Bam Bhole and Sikandar Naache which add to its overall charm and enhance its emotional beats. The music is a definite highlight, and these songs elevate the viewing experience, perfectly complementing the film’s tone. Another thing is the high-intense action sequences are well-choreographed and power-packed, keeping you engaged throughout.
Technical Analysis
Visually, Sikandar is vibrant and dynamic, with stunning cinematography that showcases the grandness of its setting. The production design is fitting for the genre, but it occasionally leans on the extravagant, which can seem over the top. The editing is sharp in most scenes but falters sometimes, particularly in the transition between some of the more intense action moments. The collaboration A.R. Murugadoss, along with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Salman Khan Films, brings the cinematic masterpiece to the audience.
Star Performances
Salman Khan shines as Sanjay Rajkot aka Sikandar. His character adds layers to the story with his charismatic screen presence. The superstar steals the show with his signature style, and it’s eye-pleasing to watch him on-screen.
Rashmika Mandanna plays Saisri, adding a touch of grace and strength to her role. She holds her own opposite Salman, delivering a performance that’s both heartfelt and impactful.
Kajal Aggarwal also makes a memorable appearance, adding a layer of complexity to the narrative. Sathyaraj as Minister Pradhan brings a strong, commanding presence to the film, providing an excellent balance to the lead characters.
The supporting cast, including Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Anjini Dhawan, Sanjay Kapoor, Kishore, and Jatin Sarna, all contribute well-rounded performances, each bringing something unique to their roles.
Conclusion
Sajid Nadiadwala’s Sikandar is a thrilling ride that offers a mix of heart-pounding action, memorable music, and solid performances. While it may not be without its flaws, the star power of Salman Khan, the catchy music, and the captivating storyline make it an enjoyable film for fans of commercial cinema. If you’re looking for an action-packed, emotionally charged film with a strong ensemble cast Sikandar is certainly worth a watch.
