The most awaited film, Bhool Chuk Maaf, was released on May 23. The film stars Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, and Seema Pahwa in lead roles. The film was written and directed by Karan Sharma and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films. The film was off to a decent start. As per Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 7.20 crore on its opening day. While the film managed a solid start, it did not surpass the opening day numbers of some recent releases.
The second day collection has come out, and the film has collected Rs 8.93 crore, which makes it a total of around Rs 15 around in total collection. Bhool Chuk Maaf has performed better than Rajkumar’s previous film, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. According to Sacnilk, Vicky Vidya earned Rs 5.5 crore on the first day. However, it is far behind Rajkumar’s blockbuster film Stree 2, which has earned Rs 51.8 crore on the first day and Rs 31.4 crore on the second day. Both films were released in theatres last year.
Before its release, the film was in the midst of controversy as Dinesh Vijan’s production banner Maddock Films announced that the film would not be released in theatres on May 9 due to the heightened security measures in place across the country after Operation Sindoor and the film will be release on OTT platform Amazon Prime Vidoe on May 16. However, it was then settled with the filmmakers and was released on May 23.
Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 is maintaining a good run in the theatres. The film earned an estimated Rs 1.03 crore on its 24th day at the box office. The film earned a total of around Rs 157.99 crore. The film is a sequel to Raid (2018) and is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. The film stars Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles. The film received positive reviews from the critics and the audience.
