Famous industrialist Sunjay Kapur, who was married to actor Karisma Kapoor from 2003 to 2016 passed away at age 53 in London due to cardiac arrest. As per reports, he swallowed a bee which caused him a heart attack. A prayer meeting was held in Delhi in his memory and the pictures and videos went viral on social media. It was attended by his former wife, Karisma Kapoor, and their kids Samaira and Kiaan. The prayer meeting was also attended by Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Neha Dhupia.
Sona Comstar has announced the new chairman of the firm and the position has been given to Jeffrey Mark Overly. The board of directors took a decision on the same and the Rs 39,000 crore auto component firm Sona Comstar with businesses in Eastern Europe, Mexico and Asia. Priya Sachdev appointed as an Additional Non-Executive Director
“Overly has been on the board of the company for almost 5 years now and has an excellent attendance record all (100 per cent) the Board and Committees meetings held during his tenure, contributing significantly to the deliberations and decision-making of the Board and its committees, despite being in a different time zone,” read in the statement from Sona Comstar on Overly’s appointment. Sunjay made Sona Comstar a global name in the auto component business and was declared as the chairman emeritus of the firm. As per reports, the board on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee (NRC), approved the appointment of Priya Sachdev Kapur, his widow as an Additional Non-Executive Director of the Company.
Priya has connections to the auto business and her father is one of the biggest car dealers in India. She completed her studies at the London School Of Economics. Sunjay and Priya are parents to son, Azarias. As per reports, she owns the late businessman’s Rs. 10300 crore net worth.
Sunjay collapsed while playing polo on June 12 in England and there is no official confirmation on the exact cause of death. Sunjay got married to Karisma Kapoor in 2003 and they had two kids – Samaira (19) and Kiaan (13). In 2014, Karisma and Sanjay filed for divorce through mutual consent and finalized divorce in 2016. After the separation, Sunjay married Priya Sachdev in 2017.
