A musical night which was recently held at Aamir Khan’s Mumbai house to celebrate the upcoming release of Sitaare Zameen Par was special in ways more than one. Aamir Khan’s recent bash was attended by the film’s cast, crew, in addition to close friends and family members. But what made the celebrations even more unforgettable was Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor’s presence.

Interestingly, this amazing crossover – which was seen at Aamir Khan’s residence on June 6 – has left netizens elated and surprised. As soon as actor Vedant Sharma shared the video on his Instagram handle with a message that read, “BRB, still processing the crossover of Sitaare×Ranbir× Kiran Rao’, fans couldn’t contain their excitement. One comment read, “This is insane…so Proud of u @aroushsunshinediaries . U r a true Rockstar”, another netizen wrote, “Wow?? so happy for you”. Few other interesting reactions read, “Awesome yaaron!!!”, “So happy for you”, “Kya Baat Hai ?”. As evident from the video, the evening was high on fun, celebrations and candid interactions. For the unversed, Sitaare Zameen Par will bee released in theatres on June 20.

During a recent awards ceremony, star Aamir Khan revealed that he had initially turned down the idea to feature in the film as he was depressed, and Farhan Akhtar and Sivakarthikeyan were supposed to lead the Hindi and Tamil versions. However, he changed his mind the last minute. As Aamir said, he and director RS Prasanna had been trying to make Sitaare Zameen Par before Covid. However, during the pandemic, Aamir decided to take a break from films and be with his family. But when his children confessed that they didn’t want him to discontinue making films, he directed Laal Singh Chaddha, but the film’s performance at the box office left Aamir heartbroken.

He recalled, “I told Prasanna that I was depressed and hence needed a break. Prasanna had a heart attack (laughs) on hearing that. He was very understanding. He said, ‘I understand what you’re going through and that emotionally, you don’t feel like doing the film. But I request you to produce it instead.’ I agreed.”

Sitaare Zameen Par is a spiritual sequel to the 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. It also features Genelia Deshmukh, along with ten debutant actors.
